Beriallord
For an open world game CDPR nailed it! The game looks great, the combat is decent, and the PC version is optimized providing you got the specs to run it. Running the game on a 980, and I can nearly max the game out and get solid 60fps with Vsynch on. Turned off hairworks and lowered foliage visibility to high. And this is at 1440p resolution. Foliage visibility range is one of the biggest FPS hits, so for anyone running a GPU that barely makes the cut, lowering that to medium or low can get you a tremendous FPS boost. If you got a multithreaded CPU, this game will split the load evenly, up to 8 threads, possibly more. It probably had to be coded this way to even run on the PS4/XB1. The game even runs on my old rig wtih an I5 2500k & crossfire radeon 6970s. With 1 6970 I can get low-mid settings and stay pegged at 30, or get consistent 60 with the same settings with 2 GPUs in use, but there is still an issue with flickering shadows with AMD crossfire atm. Or I can turn the settings up to the same I'm running on my 980 and stay pegged at 30fps @ 1080p. Few issues: - Progression seems really slow. It took forever and a day to get to level 10, and I didn't feel like I was rewarded for killing mobs and doing some missions quite a bit higher level than me. If anyone is thinking about doing missions 10+ levels above you, don't. This game doesn't reward you for it. -Costs WAY too much money to repair gear in this game. After doing a couple witcher contracts, I went to the smith and had a 830c repair bill, which was more money to repair my gear than I made from doing those contracts. Now I know why witchers demand to be paid for their services. I can visit the brothel for only 20c, and I think I know why most of the blacksmiths in the game don't have wives, because they're charging witchers 830c to repair gear, which makes 20c at the brothel seem like its free. -Signs seem "good enough" without any points invested in them, and aren't that impressive when you do start investing in them. Compared to the other 2 trees, both of which give you more noticeable improvements for your point investments. They need to buff the sign skills a bit. If you want to be a WMD, throw points in grenades, not signs. 100% chance to burn with Igni is good, but you can do that with grenades too, just better. DiamondMind28
1. don't do missions higher than you -- there is no extra reward. There is also very few xp gains with killing enemies 2. Don't repair things until you are level 15 or above, since you are constantly getting better items. 3. Sign builds are amazing if you play them right. It doesn't really show until later in the game though.
Beriallord
Sign builds are really good, but not until the level 20ish range, when you got plenty of points to invest in that tree. I'm level 35 ATM and I'm using a sign build with full mastercrafted griffin set. I decided to split partly into the potion tree for the mutagen buff, as well as extra potion toxicity levels. And +304% sign intensity. I can stack 3 decoctions + 1 potion. I use Ancient Leshen, Archgriffen and Eckidna decoctions, and then pop a Tawny Oil, the superior version doesn't wear off at night time, and once the toxicity level drops on the Tawny oil I'll pop another, usually petri's for the sign intensity buff, so at night I can have 3 decoctions + 2 potions up. The adrenaline builds a lot of people are saying are the most powerful in the game, aren't as strong as the below build. And I tried many different adrenaline build setups, and I got full mastercrafted ursine as well. For melee, any build can use the archgriffen decoction to knock 10% off a monster's HP bar with a strong attack. And with 304% sign intensity + the bonuses for quen intensity, my quen active shield cannot be broken by anything other than a special attack. With Aard I can knock down an entire swarm of harpies, and they're downed for long enough to oneshot finisher each of them 1 by 1, or I can pump a few Ignis and watch them roast. Yrden an overlooked sign is incredibly useful if you buff it up a little. For 5 points investment in Yrden you can lay 2 primaries and one secondary which acts as a lightning turret that damages + staggers mobs. And with 304% sign intensity, mobs are super slow motion. I'll share the build I'm using here: http://s22.postimg.org/k5z5uxn1c/witcher_3_build.jpg Edited July 4, 2015 by Beriallord
