OAVO bug?

Well I just got Oblivion GOTY edition, and the first thing I did was to download mods cause vanilla the game is uh... well, ugly. Since I'm pretty new to this whole modding deal I just downloaded OAVO (only one I got right now) and followed the instructions in the readme (can be read in the description here: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=oblivionmods.detail&id=5345 ) but apparently a lot of structures in the game are just shown as a sort of black silhuette rather than what they actually look like. This only happens with buildings that are at a medium-long distance from myself. I also noticed that when I run the game without Script Extender it doesn't show the buildings at all. I'd post some screenshots but it just started raining and got foggy as hell. I have a feeling I may have installed OAVO a bit incorrectly, as in the readme it says to paste the OAVO Data folder in the Oblivion directory. I did that, but instead of replacing the original Data folder, it merged with it. I have a feeling I wasn't supposed to do that, but the readme wasn't being very clear on the matter so I just kind of shrugged it off.

Anyone else familliar with this matter or know what's wrong? Any help would be appreciated, I've been looking forward to playing this but I certainly can't be bothered playing it in it's original graphics.

"instead of replacing the original Data folder, it merged with it" -- that is normal. It sounds like you did that part right.

You also have OBSE so that shouldn't be the problem.

As far as black buildings - OAVO includes RAEVWD. RAEVWD is known to cause that issue if you have Bloom lighting enabled. Try switching Bloom lighting off or switching to HDR instead.
