Corejob
Actually... back in 2007 they tested the M4 against some newer rifles (M416, G36, and SCAR). M4 jammed 882 times, the M416 jammed 233 times, the SCAR jammed 226 times and the G36 jammed 127 times. So the M4 was... 3.8 times more likely to jam than the M416 (which is just an M4 with a piston-based gas system). So yes, the M16 does suck by today's standards. You do realize that they tested M4s taken from the field against brand new 416, G36 and SCARS, right? It turns out that many of the 'control' rifles were heavily used and out of spec - not exactly a fair test. Indeed, the makers prepared rifles for the test, while the controls were given no inspection or attention despite having fired thousands of rounds. Moraelin
You know that none of the modders is paid for it, right? Everyone models or ports whatever they'd like to see in the game. If it doesn't coincide with what you'd like to see in a game, just don't download it. Comments about lack of creativity seem really out of place, IMHO. Besides, even the most superficial look in the Weapons section reveals a wealth of other weapons, including Uzis, Brownings, Garands, Tommy-guns, AK-47s (and other AKs for that matter), AN-94, MAC-10s, AA-12s, FN-FAL, AS VAL, VSS, and generally all the way to belt fed machineguns, auto-cannons, and WH40K bolters and railguns. And that's just in the fully automatic weapons category. Then there are the bolt-action rifles, lever-rifles, shotguns, semi-automatics, revolvers, and of course melee weapons from almost every age and culture. So if there are _also_ some Armalites among them, exactly what is the harm done? You could use a different weapon every level from 1 to 30 and not run out of stuff that is NOT an Armalite.
