Lovesiick
I downloaded the file, then downloaded 7zip to extract the files, which I put into the correct data folder in the steam fallout NV place. (I've already installed the underground home mod, so I know how to work it now and where to install things.) Then I opened up Fallout NV and went into data files, where I saw that the mod wasn't showing up. I looked back at my files and saw that it was all held in an additional folder in the data folder. So the .esp, sound, texture, and meshes folder were not in the data folder, but in an additional folder in the data folder. So I highlighted everything in the extra folder and dragged it out into the the data folder. However, one of the files is called Sound, and there is already a file called sound that contains songs for Radio New Vegas, so it's asking me if I want to merge the two folders. I'm confused, I've googled and looked around the forums, and haven't found anyone with the same problem or any solution. This makes me think that maybe I've made a noobish mistake somewhere along the way. So can I rename the folder and it will still work? Should I merge the two folders? Should I just start over because I made a really stupid mistake? I don't want to open my game and start messing around to see if the sound works because I'm not sure if it will work... or should I? I have no idea what to do :/ Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm hoping to fix this tonight because it seems like a stellar mod, but not sure how active these forums are since I only joined today. :)
Fumofumo
Yeah, just overwrite. Generally, Windows is going to ask you this if there are folders and files of the same name. If you look through the files in your Data folder and the ones in the zip, you can check to see if anything important will be overwritten. Usually it won't if because most modifications use different file names for whatever but the same basic folder names, g.e. meshes, sounds, menus, textures, etc. It should be fine. If not, well, that is quite unfortunate.
Lovesiick
But if I overwrite, won't that take away the Radio New Vegas songs? So RNV is gone from my gameplay?
Fumofumo
No. Unless they have the same FILE NAMES, not FOLDER NAMES. Generally, all mods use the same basic folder names being Meshes, Textures, Sounds, Menus, etc. You will have to LOOK THROUGH them and your Zip files in order to check if anything else gets overwritten that you don't want overwritten. It should be okay considering they are TWO DIFFERENT mods that most likely have uniquely named files.
