Felson7
Every time I try to shoot at the final boss the game crashes. I've tried rebooting the game in offline mode and I've tried making a different save and waiting a few turns to attack but every time I go to take the shot, it CTD's. dubiousintent
The "final boss"? If you have gotten that far into the game without problems, most likely you are running out of memory. Try shutting down some background apps such as your antivirus. Or use a tool like "Game Booster". You might also look at increasing your swap file size if that is a fixed size. If you don't think it might be that, then we need details: Which version of the game (EU or EW) and "patch level", for which platform (Windows, Linux, Mac)? What mods have you installed and any "in game" options such as "Training Roulette"?Which version of which mods? The nature of any error messages the system gives. See the wiki article "Troubleshooting basics". -Dubious-
Felson7
This is my first time playing Long War so I don't know if it's the final boss or not. It was the final boss in the vanilla game: when you use the gollop chamber, assault the mothership, and get to the room with the 3 ethereals. I have 16gb RAM and I've tried shutting down any other apps with game booster like you said, and the crash still happens. I am at the latest patch level for EW on Windows 7, playing the game through steam. The only mod I've installed is Long War 3.0 Beta 15b. I don't have Training Roulette on but I do have Commander's Choice, Hidden Potential and Red Fog. All it says is "XCOM enemy within has stopped working." It happens each time I take a shot at the boss (as soon as I press enter to confirm the attack) and it doesn't matter which unit I use or where I shoot from. dubiousintent
Long War bug reports should be posted in the appropriate Beta Feedback thread in the "XCOM File Discussions" section of the forum for a quick response. (The LW Team has stated they check here much less often than there.) You may also find that the answer is already known and posted in that thread. (IIRC this was a known problem in the "b" series.)Be sure to read the document included with the LW download on reporting bugs. They need all the information requested there to be able to help (which is pretty much what you just told me).The first recommended fix is always to upgrade to the latest version (currently D2 recommended, as the "e" series is still "alpha"). Be sure to check the release notes for the effect upon a saved game. -Dubious-
