aybayb259
To both of you: I assume that you are running Steam versions of the game. What you need to do is open Steam and go to your library. When you find Fallout New Vegas, right click and go to properties. UNTICK the box that says: Enable the Steam Overlay while in game. For some reasons sometimes FNV does not play well with Steam and any time you get a notification or message thru Steam, the game will make itself transparent. What causes this is beyond me, but I used to have the problem myself and I realized that any time someone would message me or invite me to a game it would happen and then after a short while it would stop doing it. As for the blocky trees and bushes, what you can do is go into your root game folder, and go into the texture and meshes folder and go to the trees, and also the landscape folders and delete any files that are bushes or trees. It will revert them back to the base New Vegas look, but at least they wont be blocks. But then again, I have never had the blocky tree problem so maybe it is in part by the steam overlay issue, so try disabling that both of you and coming back and telling me what happened. D4PRED4T0R
I fixed it, I had the Steam fps counter enabled and disabling it solved the problem. no more blocky shrubs and nothing is transparent anymore, aybayb259 Thanks for the help!
aybayb259
Ah yeah that makes sense as it would have to have been something that Steam did. No problem man, keep gamin'~
