Essential mod list for more realistic game play

I come here from console gaming (PS3) because i got bored with not having a variety of ways to play the game. I was wondering what essential mods i would need for a more "realistic" game play experience. I already have the FOOM (fallout mod manager) and i have FOOK (i think that's what its called). I'm basically looking to get a more realistic FPS experience out of the game without having to download 50 million mods that i know nothing about and clutter up my already taxed hard drive.

I'm basically looking for more realistic weapons (19th and 20th century stuff with working ammo), realistic FPS style cross hairs and iron sights, modifiable weapons (silencers and such), and maybe some upgraded armor styles (i found the one for the crysis armor so i have that already).

Any info would be much appreciated and very helpful as I'm extremely new to doing any game modding on a PC and I'm still learning the basics of everything.

P.S. All i need is a list i can search for the downloads myself. I won't make anyone do the hard work for me I'm just trying to figure out what most people use so i don't spend hours searching and can enjoy the game.

Thanks

I highly recommend Wanderer's Edition.

Also, just search the term Ironsights, then select the filter to sort by downloads and look at which one gets the most downloads, it's probably the best one.

That method works for pretty much anything you want and has been my route to modding these games for 5+ years now.

Also you should get FO3Edit and learn how to create a merged patch once you get all the stuff you want. It will help with stability and avoid crashes and incompatibilities.

Cool thanks for the info. I found about 90% of what i was looking for using the method you described by referencing youtube mod videos lol. Easiest way I found to get close to what i was looking for.

Any chance you know how to fix the iron sights for the AR-15 style weapons (modern pack). The sights are way off and the rail sight doesn't match up to the one on the barrel. I'm a stickler for things like that. I also downloaded the Crysis armor pack and cant seem to get it to load. I've started 5 new games and in the beginning cut scene where your born it says its added to my inventory but it never shows up.<---Idk if thats one that you use but if you could point me in the direction to fix it i would appreciate it.

Thanks

Have you grabbed the 'invaliate invalidated' resource? It takes 5 secs to use and then you don't have to worry about textures not showing up. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944

Some mods I can think of off the top of my head....

'19th & 20th century weapons' (awesome mod) http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5059

ammo weight, med weight, clutter weight (makes you carry less ammo & stims) http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8784 (ammo)

Fellout (makes nights darker) http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2672

Military equipment (adds armor & clothing) http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10453

Scavenger Armors (has more lore friendly armors, clothing and packs, plus weapons. needs point lookout)

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10228

CALIBR (needed for the ammo) http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3447%22

FOSE (Fallout script extender) http://fose.silverlock.org//

oh heres the iron sights on the top 100 ( RH_IronSights - FOSE) http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6938

more ways to add realism is to use chem effects (better living through chems), realistic damage (ACE), difficult healing ( triage), water & food needs (basic needs).
