Replace encounters?

Right. So I've already completed literally every quest, been everywhere, done everything, all on my 360. When I sold my 360, I bought New Vegas for PC so I could mod the bejeezush out of it like I did with oblivion back in the day.

My goal is to add a ton of real world weapons (most of this goal is complete thanks to Ahztek, kudos to you my good man) and to populate the world with a humongous urban sprawl, full of ghouls. In essence, I plan to build the zombie shooter I've always wanted.

The urban sprawl part is well within my grasp, I just have to put the time in. adding more ghouls is also within my technical ability. What I want to know is if there is an easier way to replace existing encounters with ghouls, or am I stuck hunting down and replacing encounter zones?

Also how would I go about eliminating energy weapons from the game?

Im not sure about the encounter thing, but the energy weapons thing is easy.

First open up the GECK and go to file save as (mod name)

Then load that mod you just created and start deleting every single energy weapon from the game. (Use the 'All' filter to help, type in weap in there to show every single weapon in the game)

If you want those energy weapons back just untick the mod when you are playing F:NV.

Well, thats how I would do it if I wanted to remove the energy weapons..

Well I'd recommend looking at how Zombie Apocolypse was done, and just try using the 'search forums' feature at the top of the webpage for more zombie/ghoul related mod ideas for more inspiration, there are tons of great ideas that you could add in from the requests forum.

Also this may have been mentioned on my thread over remaking "special encounters" so I'd suggest browsing through that as well.

User Submitted Ideas For Special Encounters

Original And News Thread For Special Encounters And The S.E.R Mod Project

Also it may be under something in my "How To Become A Modder" thread which links to many different threads and tutorials for beginners and for those rare problems that are hard to get solved.

And Then I'm just going to post anything I know of that my even be slightly useful to you, you may not need any of it but I like to refer people to good ideas just in case.

People willing to voice act for mods, and you can post here to request people to do voices for you. -- Maybe some new ghouls sounds? Try looking up tutorials for making creepy voices in the freeware voice program Audacity.

User Fired Mounted Turrets -- For defending safe areas from the hordes.

Silent Hill And Horror Enemies - Has lots of things I feel you'd be interested in, lots of possible enemies to add in with the ghouls.

Zombie Apocalypse Radio -- The idea could be altered for your mod, and with voice actors.

Grim Reaper Gear -- Using an independant resource from Oblivion you could make a boss monster or something.

How To Make Trackable Footprints -- There is also a small section on how to make realistic vehical movement, in case you want to make a car or motorcycle.

A Crossbow -- A unique weapon you may want to include.

Steampunk Mod Ideas/Resources -- There may be ideas you like in here.

Combative Preacher Mod Idea -- Fun idea with zombies. look up wolfwood for more resources as well.

Vegas Underground Network -- Lots of very good ideas on expanding New Vegas and lots of places to make horrible areas for players to cleanse and explore.

Zombie Apocalypse - Suggestions Thread

Resident Evil Rex -- Just an idea, to add in ghoulified canines to make things even creepier.

Modders Resources And Models -- My thread with TONS of resources and new models and tutorials for you to make your mod truly unique.

Mods To look at:

A World Of Pain

A Mad World Fallout Overhaul -- Look at the Day Of The Dead add-on, that sounds like a must have for all zombie mods.

Zombie Apocolypse

Thats all I can think of off the top of my list of resources. Obviously I don't expect you to use them all, but if they help even a tiny bit then its all worth it.

I'd post more from my modders resource thread, but since I've already linked you to it, I feel you can find anything you might like in there,
