NPC wont wear new armor

Im trying to get a NPC characarcter to wear another outfit. I have installed the armor as a new item under armor. Seems to work fine if I wear it, but the NPC wont. I added it to the Inventory, but they still show up as a boomer? What am I doing wrong. Also looking for more detailed rundowns on NPC chars, if anyone wants to shoot any descent links this way. Started on some AI yesterday, and my brain hurts today.

is this armor made in the same plugin that you've used to add the armor to the NPC??

if not, you will need to make it it's master through an esmify-espify process

 

also, an NPC will wear the most beneficial armor that it has that it can use (so if a raider had power armor in his inventory, but didn't have PA training, he wouldn't use it, but if he had PA training, he would)

 

and one other thing, i'm not sure if faction related NPCs will wear non-faction-related armors

my suggestion, try this armor on a fiend, or an NPC that doesn't have any faction armor (like deputy Beagle in Primm or something)

This is for a mod, its not a companion type of character. I added the armor to the mod, and put it in the inventory, but char isnt wearing item. May not have set it up right not sure what the problem is. I didnt make the armor, and trying to get ahold of the creator, I just thought it was a good choice for what i needed. Its not a big deal though right now, their naked, and its a chick, so i ge to look at her, when I walk by with nothing but a weilding hat on.

well, have you tried to put a type of armor from the original game in the character's inventory??

maybe she can't equip armors at all (though i'm really not sure if this is a possible problem)

 

also, have you created the armor in the plugin of your mod, or does it come in another plugin??

because if it comes in another plugin, then this may just be the problem

 

can't think of any other possibility right now, but if i'll think of another option, i'll be sure to write it

Yeah Im not sure either. I may not have added to the mod right. Working on somehting else now, so this will have to wait. It is definitly added to the mod though. It shows up as an invotory item, but I got another thing mroe important. Thanks for the help though.

i had exact same problem and all i simply did was say we have e.g leatherarmor i just changed to 0leatherarmor and saved to my plugin as active file not sure if thats same problem your having but it fixed mine goodluck!
