It tends to be for example, if I scale a cliff and begin descending the other side and there is a lot of vegetation leading off the descending slop at the bottom (potentially into a forest, etc). As I sprint down the slope and through the trees, my game starts to stutter. If I stop moving for even a second, the mouse becomes completely fluid and I can look around (even wheeling a quick 360 degree turn) with no lag/stutter at all. Waterfalls and water move fluidly, grass sways - nothing freezes. It's only when I'm moving that frames seem to be 'lost' which is really pretty strange. My PC specs are... CPU: Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.00GHzRAM: 16GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 666MHzMobo: ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2Graphics: nVidia EVGA GTX 980 SC (4GB) As far as I can tell, I shouldn't have any stutter or lag, period the end! I have a lot of mods running but I don't think that's the issue. I think it's more liekly I've over-tweaked one of four INI files (skyrim INI, skyrim prefs INI, enblocal.ini or enbseries.ini). The game has less time to load all the new information as you move forward so quickly and it starts bottlenecking. When you stop running it all catches up. Paranoid23 Posted June 10, 2015 Share Posted June 10, 2015 You enblocal has a VideoMemorySizeMb of over 10GB and a ReservedMemorySizeMb of 2GB. Both are way too high. The problem is, these variables are hardly documented by the ENB author and lots of ENB mod authors advice you to put these number at very high values. For your system with a 4GB card try setting ReservedMemorySizeMb to 128MB, 256MB or 512MB. Also set the VideoMemorySizeMb to 4GB. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It really does make the game unplayable for me. I might try pushing the VideoMemorySizeMb back up but leaving ReservedMemorySizeMb where it is? Here's something interesting, when I set ENB to use the speed patch only (no graphical enhancements) I still get the annoying stutter! That doesn't seem right at all to me? Before that point you can see resources gradually increasing but they're not actually rising that high to be honest, except for "FPS" which starts to drop just before I quit (so, I captured the stutter and then shut down the game). Is there anything here that looks majorly suspect? I'm beginning to think it might not be performance related at all! New theory: Over-abundance of script-using mods and script heavy stuff such as Sands of Time. Could over-using scripts also be causing this, if it's not performance related? Your VRAM usage is way under your max. I'm using a similar processor but with a 2GB videocard with an ENB and some graphics mods and there is very little stutter in my game. Although your mods will probably work fine individually there can be massive script lag when combining them. I had some serious stutter while running enhanced blood, frostfall and a bird mod combined. While each mod worked fine on it's own (except the bird mod) combining a bunch of them creates papyrus (the scripting engine) overload. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This gives the engine more time to spin everything up script-wise when loading into an exterior or interior. I get stutter with the volume of HD textures I have, even with a nicely optimized Skyrim. I've reduced that somewhat by optimizing my textures (DDS tab only) with SMCO. But it can't be completely removed without reverting to vanilla.
