Wierd GECK bug

I have come across a rather strange predicament. For the past few months ive been working on a mod and tried to add some more NPCs to the Atomic Wrangler, nothing special in the AI, just find furniture and sit. However after testing the mod in game and seeing all was well the game started to produce a duplicate NPC alongside the original one.

 

Anyway now i have three NPCs spawning where only one should, so i have around 6 main NPCs and three dupicutes walking around them causing chaos.

 

Any one know how to fix or even come across the problem before?

It sounds like you might have accidentally used "ctrl-D" to duplicate items in the render window, when you had these NPC's selected. In the cell view window in geck, load your interior, and look carefully in the object list on the right side. Do you see the NPC's twice? Then you can just delete one copy of each. It is very easy to use "ctrl-D" accidentally since "D" is the deselect hotkey. If you find a large number of objects duplicated, you may want to download fnvedit, which can be an easier way to do mass deletion.

I tried your advice and checked the render window, however much to my disappointment i only saw what i knew what was there. Theres no duplicates at all, only one copy of each NPC.

 

Ive tried deleting all NPCs i added in the area but that didn't work either, i fear this is much bigger then i thought it was! :(

Please note my advice was not to check the *render* window. If you have accidentally duplicated items they are at the exact same coordinates and it will look the same, as if there is only one. My advice was to check the right hand side of the cell view window. Please confirm if *that* shows any extra objects.

 

If you have actually deleted all your NPC's from the area, and you still see your NPC's in the area, that is very strange. Do you have scripts which place new NPCs? I cannot think of any way that new NPC's would just appear on their own.
