hi everyone i recently installed wrye bash on my computer again and it seems the bash patch was put into my oblivion/data folder when i installed the program but unlike last time it was now called Bashed Patch, 0.esp.ghost i dont know why and i did not do this myself but i heard oblivion wont read the esp if it is .ghost so my question is do i change this back to .esp so that when i have all the other mods imported or merged into the bash patch it can be read by the game or does it still read it with Bashed Patch, 0.esp.ghost with out needed change ? and if i do need to change it back how ? please anyone help ! thanks in advance...

You have to rename the file to remove the .ghost part.

If you are using Oblivion Mod Manager Extended, then that might be what's ghosting your bashed patch esp as it seems to autoghost any inactive esp whenever the OBMM part of the program is ran and then closed. If that is your problem, then just make sure to use the "Restore Inactive ESPMs" function of OBMM Extended before running the game or (re)building the bashed patch.

wow i just realized i forgot to check the bashed patch in wrye bash to activate it and thats why it was ghosted, i feel like such a fool...... thanks anyway at least you told me some stuff i didnt know and yes i was using OBMM Extended but while i got you here can you help me with another question please ?

on the internet in all the guides i look at for wrye bash it says if i want to edit the default_bash.ini it gives me these two steps

1.Find the "bash_default.ini" in Oblivion\Mopy and copy it

2.Rename the copy to "bash.ini

does this mean i keep bash_default.ini in mopy folder and copy and paste it and rename copy to bash.ini keeping both files in same folder

or does this mean copy original bash_default.ini to a backup folder somewhere then rename the bash_default.ini thats in the mopy to bash.ini ???

please i need answer, and thanks for all the help again !!!

I have never had cause to edit bash's ini, and I can't find any instructions that address the ambiguity of where to copy the "bash_default.ini".

I apologize, but I do not know what needs to be done with the ini. You can try your suggestion of keeping the bash.ini in the same folder as the bash_default.ini, and if that does not work, you can just delete the bash.ini and wait for someone more knowledgeable than me to assist you.

Short answer: It doesn't matter. Wrye Bash will only read Bash.ini.
