Now it's possible to activate all skills with Cheat Engine

We've been asking for an activate all skills mod for some time. Zanzer from Cheat Engine forums added such a feature to his The Witcher 3 table. Looks like it's not perfect yet, it's working for some (including me) and not working for others. And according to user reports loading a save game or traveling to another map breaks the script. Check your character page from time to time, if the script is not active anymore, just deactivate and re-activate the script via the table.

I'll explain how to use the CE table in case some of you don't know:

1. First, make sure that your game is updated to the latest 1.05 version. This is important.

2. Download and install Cheat Engine 6.4. Those who have an older version of CE, you too download the latest 6.4 version: http://cheatengine.org/downloads.php

3. Download the Wither 3 table at the end of the Zanzer's post: http://forum.cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?p=5594447

4. Now backup your save files before doing anything else. Neither i nor the table maker is responsible if the script breaks your game somehow.

5. Run Witcher 3, load a save, open character window, empty all skill slots because you won't need them after activating the script. Then alt+tab to desktop.

6. Run the Witcher 3 table that you downloaded. Then File > Open Process > Find the witcher3.exe on the list and open it. Click yes when asked "Keep the current blabla?"

7. Now you see the list of scripts on the table. Find "Activate All Skills", click on its box JUST ONCE - NOT MORE, because clicking many times might freeze the table. Activating this script might take some time depending on your PC performance. Wait and don't touch anything untill you see X inside the box, X means the script is activated.

8. After that leave the table running and return back to the game. Open character window, take a look at skills. If the script worked for you, you can see that skills are selected even though they are not equipped in skill slots. Any skill that you invested skill points in it will be active from now on.

But how to be sure they are really active and your character is benefitting from them? As you know signs have alternative modes (the second skill on each sign column) you can use by holding the cast sign button Q. Make sure all skill slots are empty, none of the skills are equipped, and make sure to invest some skills point in any of these sign alternative modes. Now find an enemy, select the sign that you invested points in its alternative mod, hold the Q button, did the sign's alternative mode activated even though it's not equipped in any skill slot? Congrats, the script is working fine for you.

Hope this was descriptive enough, my English far from perfect. Don't ask me the technical details because i don't know anything about them. If you have more questions, you can ask them to the table maker on Witcher 3 table thread: http://forum.cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?p=5594447

Thanks man, that's great! I believe everyone was looking for this.
But can you answer me something? Did traveling to another map broke the script for you? Because having to activate the script everytime I start the game doesn't really bother me, but having to do it every time I travel to another map would be REALLY annoying.

Anyway, thanks again!

I haven't tested it extensively yet. Once i play for a few hours with the script activated, i'll report. Btw by "traveling to another map" they mean traveling from Velen to Skellige or Skellige to Orchard etc. I don't think they mean fast travelling from point A to point B within the same map. So it's not so bad. Anyway here is the user report from CE forums:

The script works everytime I activated it after loading game. It takes about 25sec for the script to find the addresses and activate.

Deactivating or leaving it active and loading another savegame or traveling to another map breaks the script.

e.g. from Velen to Skellige, possible other instances where loading times occur (needs further testing), but not while fast traveling in the same zone, even if the games takes awhile to load.

From the table creator Zanzer:

Updated Activate All Skills script again. It is now a two part activation.
The first will inject all the necessary hooks and should be instantaneous.
The second performs the lookup for the skill slot 1 address.
If the second part fails, you can perform your own manual search as described above to populate the address value.

So the script activation method changed. First click on "Active All Skills" box, then click on "Lookup Skill Slot 1 Adress" box, then click on "Skill Slot 1 Adress" box.

Another important thing: According to my test the script works fine for Combat, Sign, Alchemy trees. Meaning you don't have to equip any of the skills under these trees. But the script doesn't work fine for the General tree, these skills are totally unaffected by the script. You have to equip the General skills in the skill slots to activate them. Good thing is there are 10 General skills and 12 skill slots, so there is no problem.

I know this looks too complicated to those who are not familiar with Cheat Engine. But until a modder makes a more skill slots mod or skills are always active mod, Cheat Engine is our only alternative. And looks there won't be such mods until RedKit is released. Hell, there is no guarantee that there will be such mods even after RedKit is released. So i suggest you guys get used to Cheat Engine.

Ok, thank you! The possibility of having all your skills activated is already something really useful! Despite the little work, we need to think that there's no mod that does what CE is doing by now. Anyway, when I have some time I'll test and post my results here.
