MadGAD
First, thank to all who interester.. I post this idea here because I haven't enough skills with G.E.C.K., but all things here are possible. I see similar things in many mods for Oblivion, FO3 and FNV. If someone would interest in this so please just p.m. me so I could wait your mod :ninja: NOTE:  If you playing as Mr.House, Legion ot Yes-man, then maybe same quest but another NPCs... Here the Saga begins...(If you using mods that give you options to play after main quest completion so this is more than actual for you).....One day You realize that you defeat all of your major enemies in region. Legion\NCR\Mr. House...You complete almost all quests and sidequests..You earned your own fame and infamy, I have got your own reputation, you collects tonns of caps (or gold coins - for those who uses caps to gold coin). And what? Yes, you stand with millions of caps\coins in a middle of Mojave Watleland between ashes and scrap, junk and radscorps... People are dying from starvation and thirst. Many ranches and othe locations are still almost empy and useless (maybe they should be used for some cut-content like steel plant, but now are useless). And you have so many useless items in your inventory that you cannot sell (vendors have not enought money for that!) or use with craft (even if there are variety of REALLY GOD CRAFTING MODS!!!). Quest line:1) Lack of fresh water for farmers? So you decide to go to ambassy to have a conversation about using old Vault-34 as a new water-purifier plant.Ambassador is interested but say that he have not enough resources to make this nor enough tech equipment.Go to McCaran camp and talk with a scientist (whom gives you a quest for Vault with mushrooms :-) ). Ask him about your problem. He has friends in Followers of Apocalipsyse and University in NCR. He say that he could help, but it would a high cost! And he will sent a bill to ambassador.Go back to ambassador and talk with him. -=There should be check for quest comleting for Vault-34 water quest and airbase Nellis B-29 quests=-He will say that it is possible to rebuild this Vault as Purifier, but you still need some things: reblock and open reactor and other systems in Vault (and will give you some misc quest item - "Disc with new O.S." or something, bring it to Vault-34 overseer's computer and input new commands) ---> Reminds me a "capture the flag" - capture a comp and bring your head back to ambassador. And second thing is to find any blueprints and plants of this Vault. Find old technic in Nellis Hangars that is crazy of B-29 (Loyal) and ask him about old plans of their former home. He will ask you to help him and bring him a 10.000 of flamethrower fuel to feed his Ol' flyin' Lady and gives you aol plans of Vault. So after that ambassador will say that he needs a huge amount of money to recruit a Scientists (50.000 caps), guards (25.000 caps) and science equipment that scientists need (maybe over 75.000 caps). GIVE HIM ALL WHAT HE NEEDS!-=then, maybe, three-days waiting period to rebuild a Vault 34=-Then, remove all gecksos and ghouls from vault, spawn some scientists and idle markers, guardians from NCR and comps\equipment... Make this Vault as a inhabited by small group of scientists. Mabye remove some trash or clutter when quest is completed. As an investor you would recieve an option to purify all of your dirty or irradiated water everytime you need in this vault! And will have some free purified water bottles (100 would enough) everytime you ask lead vault scientist about Output. It may be considered as a cheating, but if you able to make such investiments then 100 bottles of purified water for you isn't a valuable thing  As a reward, EXP and FAME with NCR\Strip\another small factions near New Vegas So, crops are watered and farms are in charge, but still there are many things that are useless. Then comes....2) There are too many abandoned shacks and ranches? Even with an domesticated animals near it? And no use for them??? Ask abassador about new ranches. He will say that there many of free land and enough water for farming. And there are many people in NCR and other lands&settlements who want to be a farmer\rancher, but has no possibility to be. He will give you some misc. token (misc item with model "Notes" and name "Deeds for land") and you should bring it to abandoned farm you want revive. Place to some quest container (Mailbox? Or special table in shack? Yes, if Farm has only ruins of farmer house and hangar for animals, then modder should create o replace ruins to new house. Or just remove wooden planks from building and make a door open-able when quest started - something like early RTS versions for FO3 or DCInteriors Project). Then came back to ambassador and tell him that you know a good place for a farm\ranch. Or a brewery :-) Abandoned shacks should be modified by adding a small farm items and crops after completing quest, ranchers too, but with more animals. Molerat ranch? Maybe special molerats that are non-agressive to all...But ambassador say that newcomers haven't enough money to rebuild that land, refill stock and recruit a cowboy-guards. So for one farm it goes 50.000 caps to reconstruct a farm and same to recruit guards and breed new animals and plant crops.GIVE HIM MONEY! Then he will ask you to find a way to help newcomers with starting seeds, food and animals - go to Fitz and Lupa. Ask Fitz to sign a contract (1000 caps per one ranch, repeatable) to help with animal breeds or crops\spirits (Farms, ranches and brewery). Ask Lupa about water supply (2500 caps per contract - We need more and more fresh water to produce something!!! Farms, ranches and brewery).Remember, you are just investor, not a builder! Give three days to revive a ranch (it's difficult - maybe a some repeatable quest to make a ranch, one at a time - anyone from vanilla in any order but one at a current time.) Then there would be a farmers, cowboy guardians wih cowboy repeaters and shotguns :pirate:=) Animals, crops, farmer vendor that sells crops (like one in Westside Cooperative). And one of chest that will replenish it's items in some period. For example, bramin ranch = 10 brahmin meat and 20 milk a day or three days (there are some gooood mod that adds a brahmin milk and option to milking brahmins to a empty brahmin bottles. For brewery - some alcohol, for maise farm - some abandoned vanilla shack - equal number of maize).Reward: exp, fame with NCR(or another faction wich helps with this quest). And expand Lupa and Fitz tradable goods lists with new farm outcome after first ranch is completed. Then, after completly reviving one ranch, shack or brewery, you could start reviving of another one. This is just a beginning, to be continued! MadGAD
NOTE: I didn't want to change counterfeit bottlecaps shacks as there are good mod that turns it into a perfect usable. 3)Now you are significant investor, you are reviving wasteland economy, but still you are WALKING F**KING WAREHOUSE OF SCRAP AND JUNK!Go to a Crimson Caravan HQ, ask to it's leader in Mojave (emm.. McFlaerty?) about creating a new caravan... Call it... Cass caravan, Rose of Desert. Re-buy deeds to it old caravan for 10.000 caps, but it will be in structure of Crimson Caravan. So your caravan is part of it, but you managing it. You should recruit a caravaners and guardians (Ask Cass about it - she would be very happy about reviving her caravan and helps you to find more personel - 1500 for every guardian, two or three. 2000 for caravan driver and 100 for every of 3 caravan brahmins. And also, give a 500 caps to Fitz or another food trader to make a start-up supply kits for your caravaners, 500 caps for every man(or ask Ringo on Crimson Caravans base, so he still useless after completing his quest))Remember, you are just investor, not a caravan-driver. But you could ask caravan-driver to sell all your useless junk in his own trade route. Just as in Amy Wong Companion. He will travel, trade and bring you some caps for your junk. Or some food\alcohol\ammo\something else if you want.Reward: fame with Cass  ability to forget about wandering to every goddamn hole to sell your glass pitchers by yourself  4) there are some useless NPCs that wandering around after you complete their quest or encounter. (Or just resurrect them by console or by perk from "More Perks" from some random "Dead Prospector").Maybe, adding an option as in mod "Talk to everyone", and speak with some useless NPCs (who needs a walking unarmed 1-hp prospector in Geckso Caverns?) and ask him to join NCR (or another faction) for 500 caps as a recruit (and - maybe - add him to faction, equip him in weapon and armor of that faction and turn him in-to some of faction's camps?).Or sign a contract (1000) and join to ranch\farm\brewery workers...Reward: fame wit faction or +1 to output forr a farm... There will be more things about investing in medicine (rebuild of a clinic), science (reghoulificator? Some mods were for FO3), military (sponsor of an military operation or defence of object, or location\settlement occupation - all just eye-candy, no profit) Why? Because many of us are realy BORED by millons of caps when they became useles..... Edited January 28, 2011 by MadGAD

Neariox
yea i guees this is a pretty good idea. if u play legit then most of ur caps you will use on ammo. plus there are glitches that increase the number of enemies. Plus there is rust town and a world in pain which add new locations. Also zombies apocalypse creates tons of zombies which are fun to kill. otherwise good idea
simplywayne90
Advice from one poster to the next, Edit your originial post to look like those in the "Post Your Quest Mod Ideas Here" Thread, just so its easier to read, But I really like your idea requardless. Basically you want to be able to "upgrade" the wasteland. Which is awesome.A similar system was used in RTS back in Fallout 3 with you sending supplies to your "allies" A cool addition could be that you could change the "themes" of towns depending on the players reputation/quests or skill set. Like say you have a science mechanic character, and your allied with the BoS or NCR, then maybe you can buy/create more technological defenses and items.A Survivalist expert can buy more tribal looking and wild items for towns and things. And you can have faction specific upgrades and things you can buy depending on the players quests that he has completed (Not reputation since that can change very easily) So like you can only buy Legion upgrades for an area if you've taken several Legion quests or you've taken the Legions side on certain quests. Another idea you'd lke is the Daily Jobs thread, which offers a lot of great ideas and could be complementary to this idea. Also by themes I meant like different categories of items and things to aquire that only become available with certain conditions. Like you can't get powder ganger type items if your a sheriff with the NCR and Vice versa. and themes could be like NCR, Enclave, BoS, Alien (Maybe), Khans, Fiends, Legion, etc. And the way it could be done just like when the player in Fallout 3 would buy items for thier home, where the items enable/disable depending on the player buying/selling the item.
