demidekidasu
To add to whats been said, I really liked the Karma in Fo3. One if the jollies I get from these games is playing the supergood person, making all the selfless decisions that the real world would crucify you for and being the saint that very few of us achieve in reality. So I was 'disappointed' because there's no point in playing FoNV like that. I was so disappointed I made this; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BSNTYorSFE It seemed as if the devs wrecked the karma system while trying to replace it with the reputation system which wasn't as compelling for us ethical souls even if it was bug free and consistent, which it wasn't! Nice video! Very well made! The thing is, it really seems to be almost impossible to make an evil character in New Vegas, no matter what you do. I have been doing some quite brutal stuff and my character is considered to be "Very good". Its annoying to say the least when you are deliberately trying to be as evil as possible... Nohbodey
Yeah, I get what you mean, but you see, I liked the old karma system in Fallout 3. Even though it didnt really have THAT much effect on the game, it was just nice to have an actual measurement system showing how "good" or "evil" you were. And, of course, it would lead to being jumped by a group of Regulators now and again if you were evil, which was quite fun. I think that they should have made efforts to improve on it, rather than attempting to phase it out by giving us this half-baked system. I guess that's the difference between you and me. I don't want the game telling me whether or not my character is evil, how much, and which actions he's made that justify that conclusion. To be honest, I would probably have tried to side with the Enclave in Fallout 3, albeit if they were to stop their attempt to kill every wastelander and instead use their superior resources to stop the Super Mutant problem in the Capital Wasteland and make the place safer for everyone. I don't think this convicts me of any kind of evil, nor do I think the game has any kind or right to tell me that. I do agree with you on the final point, though: Don't give us an extremely selective karma system, either make it consistent and important or don't have it at all. I just prefer the latter option.
