Medieval Immersion

I've been looking for a medieval type immersion mod. I'm sort of new to this modding community. I guess it'd be called an overhaul? Anyway, I'm looking for a mod that would replace most armor types with more realistic armors. I've tried using the search tool but I don't quite know what I'm even looking for. I was just wondering if such a thing exists. Thanks.

The ultimate medieval type mod is Waalx Animals and Creatures. It's an overhaul and is not compatible with FCOM etc. Despite being called Animals and Creatures it does much, much more than that, but doesn't take over everything and is modular to an extent. It's compatible with pretty much everything else, except maybe Unique Landscapes and a few others. I can't use those as my system wouldn't handle it, so I can't tell you exactly.

New weapons and armour, new mounts other than horses, buildings, and the animals of course.....too much to really list. It's based around the Conan style of world if that gives you some idea. More gritty and truer to a medieval style of game which is my preference. Besides anything else it's like walking through a dangerous open wild life park with a lot of extras.

Anyway, this is the website where you can download it and it's quite large. Plus, you have to register to see any related threads, but it's totally worth it.

It's in Beta, but don't let that bother you. It's so stable I've never had a crash in many hours of playing with it. There's also an update coming soon.

Yeah, Waalx is a very good overhaul. Better than FCOM imo. (Mostly because I couldn't get FCOM to work properly, kept crashing my game after a few minutes of playing heheh)

That's why I removed it from my game. Most of the time it was fine, but I lost the desire to play the game after awhile with all the micro management and I can't be bothered with it these days. I have kept OOO though in a separate character profile. I miss the special loot and some of the things it adds. At the moment I have a more sedate game with no issues at all, (just as many mods though) but I do wish for more than 10 gold coins and a pair of calipers at the end of a dungeon. Waalx mod makes up for this though with what it adds.

I should also mention for the OP...all the animals and creatures don't want to kill you on sight unless you get in their personal space and many will run away from you. Much more believable. I hesitate to use the term "realism" as I know it gets misinterpreted, but even in a fantasy game with magic and beast races to mention a couple of things, some things still suspend belief. Even a fireball casting mage needs to abide by rules of physics and all nature isn't hostile. :D Probably not a great explanation, but that's how I see it.
