at least thats what I'm aiming for.

 

I concider myself a good writer and have a reputation in my area for crafting interesting stories. I don't want to sound big headed, but I do think I do a decent job at writing. I thought I would combine my ability to write with my limited ability to mod and create a 'Famous Heros of Cyrodil' mod.

 

Stupid idea but its keeping me entertained. My goal is to write elaborate stories about other peoples characters and then add them to the game.

 

The idea came to me while playing my own game. I had always held my characters backstory in my head for my own amusement. One day, with nothing to do, I began typing it out as an in game book. My character was by this point in the game an infamous criminal, known for slaughtering innocents everywhere he went. So I decided to write his auto-biography. The deep touching story of what drove him from being a beautifuly innocent child to a raving serial killer.

 

I didn't make it available to the public but I did let a few friends have it. They all said I did a good job and wanted me to do ones for them. So I did short stories for them about thier characters, one the savious of Cyrodil, the other the Arch-Mage of the mages guild. I had alot of fun doing it too.

 

After I finished up the last one I got bored again and thought, what if other people wanted there character's histories forever recorded in Cyrodil history?'

If you think this a stupid and pointless idea and I need to be shot for thinking it up... why are you even here?

 

I hope that this'll be a wide spread mod so that there will be hundreds of different unique stories to populate Oblivion with. each player plays the game differently, and I find it enriching to see all the different ways people play.

Screw flamers. I for one think it's a great idea. Personaly I think the game was good as far as story line but lacked background history relating to your character. A mod that developed character through a side quest like tracking down old friends or figuring out why the hell you were in jail in the first place and could adapt it's self according to race, class even infamy etc. that you choose during play would, assuming it would be creative and tastefuly written, earn an easy 10 in my book. But it if you're just talkin about keepin it simple and having it to where others can send in requests for individual backgrounds to put into a preordained book mod, still an origional idea and interesting. If it became popular though, you might find yourself extremely overwhelmed in which case I'd recommend pre-writing several unique storylines per class/race, etc. to distribute. Anyways hell yea I say go for it.

I like this idea. I am a writer, and if you don't mind, I would like to PM you my own story about my character and you can edit it. Great mod idea!
