craftable weapons

Are there actually craftable weapons in new vegas like in fallout 3.

 

I find myself keeping all sorts of junk because i think it will come in handy for a crafty weapon later on in the game but i'm starting to think it will never come.

What craftable weapons are there in new vegas and what do i need to build em. So i can actually put my 100 pound of fission battery, conductor , steam assembly and other stuff to use

There are very few craftable weapons available in the game. If you want to expand upon the crafting system then get the Craft Overhaul mod here on the Nexus. I wouldn't play without this.
