Fallout questions for a beginner

Since there are steam sales i am quite tempted to get one of the fallouts mostly for modding purposes since i already played both on consoles.

So i'll go with the questions:

Is fallout3 still bugged on Windows 8?

Wich between F3 and new vegas have more mods (expecially aesthetic ones)?

Do they have the same graphic?

Are the DLCs long?

Any suggestion :D?

Ty a lot for your help.

> Get both. Especially since they are on sale.

> Fallout 3 has to be optimized (read as fiddled with) for it to run on any Windows system higher then Vista. To do so, just google it, its not complicated, and takes all of five mintutes tops to optimize.

>New Vegas and Fallout 3 both have a large amount of mods, both are fairly neck and neck, but most people, when the paladin inside was satisfied, they went to New Vegas rather then Fallout 3 (on average), so New Vegas probably as a few more mods then F3, but the hype of Fallout 4 has reenergized the modding for both of the fallout games.

> Roughly the same graphics, though after patches most (not all) tend to say that New Vegas may be a tad stabler.... although it should be noted that the more mods you use the higher the chance of buggy behaviour.

> New Vegas DLC's are fairly good and long (again not a universal opnion) but Fallout 3 has some good ones too. Although with the sale, the GOTY and Ultimate Editions would be your best bet.

> My Favorite DLCs:

- New Vegas: Old World Blues, Honest Hearts, Gun Runner's Arsenal

- Fallout 3: Broken Steel, Point Lookout, The Pitt

I would agree with most of what modder3434 has said, except the "optimized" for Windows system... I feel, Win7 and Win8 are still buggy. They are playable, but not "optimized". There are mods and tweaks to use but you will find the freezes and CTD are there and often.

Having said that I still would, buy both and just learn to deal with the "unplanned breaks". They are so cheap (on sale) now, and they will still give you hours of fun.
