i think i forgot something, someone mind helpin me out?

Recommended Posts

so while i was installing everything i was careful and checked the game would load and everything after every other mod install. so after about four or so hours i got done installing everything and decided to just set aside the game and take a break before playing it. so when i went to actually play it, i found myself crashing when ever i tried to start a new game.

so with that in mind i realized i must have missed a step or something, so far i have used LOOT and i use NMM for managing my mods.

so here's my load order, if anybody could look it over that'd be great.

I haven't played with FO3 in a long time, and most of those mods i have looked at but never really messed around with much so as far as load order is concerned i cannot offer much other than; When it comes to the mods that the programs you used don't "recognize" try to lump them in with other like mods (move weapon mods around the same load order as other weapon mods that the programs do recognize, quest mods with other quest mods, etc. Once done with that you will want to load everything up in FO3EDIT and see if it sees any crashes (usually from missing master files) and if it does load all the way to then go through the steps of doing a compatibility check filter (basically to see if anything is/has been moved or deleted that another mod is referencing) after all that if it still does not run, start unchecking mods until you get to a point where the game will actually run (keeping in mind the "masters" issue mentioned above)

One quick thing you might try before all that is to redo your ARCHIVEINVALIDATION turn it off and then back on, you wouldn't believe the amount of times i slammed my head on my desk from a non-working game; when this is all that was needed

so far i have used LOOT

That statement is all I needed to see. I did not even have to look at your load order to know it is wrong. LOOT does not sort Fallout 3 mods correctly and what it does produce usually causes the game to be unplayable.

If you don't know how to sort your load order, use BOSS : http://boss-developers.github.io/

I have been using LOOT with no problems on FO3 & FONV for some time now. no, it isn't perfect. but that is taken into account as LOOT allows you to make changes that will be remembered. Without my manual changes, it was playable, but with some strange graphics problems in some places.

BOSS works also, but you will need to make far more manual changes as it works off of a master list only and if a mod is not already on that master list it just gets dropped at the end.

HA! good one, please redirect your attention to bben46. the devs for LOOT made BOSS originally.

good tip, i already know it though (been modding these games for a while now) but kudos none the less. not enough people even suggest this when helping with troubleshooting.

this part though helps, i always forget about using FO3edit to do that. i will give it a try and thanks for replying.
