tyrce
Hey guys...I'm new here so this will obviously be a fail thread XD. Anyway...I have been on and off TES:IV for the PS3 for a couple years now and have decided that, because of the un reccognised potential of a world as big as Cyrodil, I am going to buy TES:IV and V for my new IN WIN Computer...I have a couple of questions before I start though... I am getting an improved graphics card soon because it was cheaper than getting a better computer...I was just wondering if this computer will be acceptable for MAX settings...(I dont know what info to give you so tell me how to get the info and I'll give it to you... Secondly, I was wondering what an optimal program was, for the creation of mainly House Mods, as I dont realy want to request a mod before I have a little look around at what you can do and the skill required...This brings me to my third question... Do I need to be a good programer to make a good house? Will I need dair ammount of skill to make textures or will they automaticaly be incorperated into the items...Will the program be sort of like building blocks and doors and stuff and you can basicaly start puting stuff together...like lego? As you can see above, I am clearly no expert, but would realy appreciate the advice or help. EDIT: Does it matter if I use a Disc version or Steamed version of TES:IV because I would rather the steamed version because I want it quicker...Thanks...Bye! wetblanket
Can't help you with PC specs. As for the rest... The Construction Set (CS) is all you need. Until you get really ambitious anyway :D No programming skills required for house modding. It is, as you say, rather like lego, placing pre-made objects. You can get more complicated, making your own meshes, re-texturing etc. but that isn't necessary. I strongly recommend you join TESAlliance and do their Construction Set Basics tutorial. It will walk you through the process of house modding and people there are extremely friendly and helpful. Steam is fine, D2D is the only distribution method which doesn't work I believe :)
bben46
Very few computers will be able to run Oblivion with all settings at max. It's a major resource hog. However, even at lower settings it looks and runs great - especially with a few mods to improve the looks. As far as making your own mods, All you need to start is the FREE Construction set - and a lot of patience to learn how to make it do what you want.
