Do you mean Bruma one house or Bruma on city as in more?

I'm not even going to think about the city while trying to do the first house.

Once that's done with any revisions you want then I'll be ready to go to another house or the castle.

Once that's done I'll be pretty focused on wanting to convert all of Bruma as well as Cloud Ruler Temple.

I've already done scale models of Cloud Ruler Temple and Bruma Catheral for the Time Cairn so I am fairly familiar with their layout.

I was just wondering if you were gonna do any more buildings after the bruma middle 01. I wasn't sure if you were just going to do that one or all the bruma houses. And what were you planning on doing for cloud ruler temple?

I was thinking of the temple where you have to meet the greybeards and I was just wondering what you had in mind. What is the "Time Cairn"? I couldn't tell from what description you had. Thanks again.

I will try to mod one building first to get a better idea.

While I am pretty sure I can do what you are asking by Christmas I need to test the water first.

Making Cloud Ruler Temple resemble High Hrothgar will not be all that hard.

The Time Cairn...

One thing that jacks me off about Oblivion is the "Waiting game".

No matter what guilds we join and try to schedule activities we end up having to WAIT.

We are Ripped out of RPG immersion into watching a Progress Bar.

The next is "Sudo" fast travel by clicking on your map.

Why have the "magic" of fast travel if the game is going to penalize us for the time it takes to crawl across the longest route???

As a vampire I have found it much quicker/safer to run all the way from Leyawiin to Anvil as fast travel leaves me burnt to a crisp.

The Time Cairn provides almost instantaneous travel from wherever to a limited number of locations and after that you are on foot, much like Morrowind Mage fast travel.

When you link into it all danger is cancelled.

There are crystals for if you want to link back to where you came into whichever Cairn.

There is a crystal for saving where you just linked in from. That is complemented by a crystal that will take you back there any time later.

Each time you use it you get an Sanity Penalty.

These are much higher when linking out from Oblivion and higher again if that is quest related.

After a number of sanity points the mod considers you insane and sends you out, at random, to one of 3 realms to regain your sanity in battle.

Each of those realms have 21 enemy and little loot.

I'm sure there is huge room for improvement but again, there has been no feedback to fill in the ideas that I don't have.

EDIT I have a training mod that takes from end of IC Sewers to Level 50 and 100 all skills and attributes in around an hour.

This is the limit before screwing up certain variables and making the player weak.

I use that to fast track break testing with various classes and races while ensuring I go from fresh saves that do not have any mod specific values.

The time cairn loads any time after leaving the IC Sewers and sends us to Sadrith Arcuhn.

When I mentioned 4 posts back...

"I've already done scale models of Cloud Ruler Temple and Bruma Catheral for the Time Cairn so I am fairly familiar with their layout."

...all I was saying is that I am familiar with the constructions.

I had never bothered to think of the architectural merit of certain Oblivion models until doing the Time Cairn's replicas.
While at it I put the link to the Time Cairn in case you wanted to see for your self.

It is only a 40mb despite having scale replicas of every castle and town in Cyrodiil, similar in the Shivering Isles and then a lot more again.
It adds a whole island with village, caves and ayleid ruins.
A Telvani Wizard's tower along with a quest and over 40 lines of dialogue.

The 3D maps of Cyrodiil and Shivering Isles don't go in your inventory - You Walk Around Them!
There are crystals in the air that you use to go to major locations.
When you link out you are not robbed of virtual travel time - as I believe true RPG magic should have it!
As I said, it offers the challenge of doing multiple quests without being forced to play someone's idea of "The Waiting Game".

Take the Mages Guild "Ulterior Motives" QuestStage 20 where Mercator Hosidius tells us to come back tomorrow.
When I first played this years ago it failed to update and the bug was saved to both autosave and quicksave.
Having lost hours of gameplay and ripped out of RPG immersion for about the 4th time I gave up on Oblivion for months.

Getting back to your mod, do you simply want to make a city re-placer or bring it to life and give players things to do?
I don't mean that at all facetiously but I think it is worth considering now in order to plan ahead.

Even if you download the Time Cairn to open models in NifSkope and look at spells, dialogue, scripting, whatever in CSE it may give you ideas.

Regards,

Greg

Well, regarding giving people things to do, I think it would be a good idea, but I don't know anything about scripting, so that would be up to you and anyone else who may want to help in the future. And just to be clear (because I'm not the brightest bulb in the box), I don't need to get the "Time Cairn" correct? Also, do you know anything about animating? I could possibly be getting a new computer. If I do I'll be able to do more stuff for the mod. Like make animated flags and banners like in skyrim. I'm thinking I'll still use the Bruma flags, and make the city itself look like Whiterun. Also I will have to replace the guard armor to the Whiterun guard armor. Of course this is all relying on the fact that I do get a new computer. Now of course there is the possibility that I may just get skyrim. And mod skyrim, but I would make sure we finish this project first.

Of course you don't need the Time Cairn.

Any of the animation editing in NifSkope I've done required modifying/creating the model in first.

Have you found Hold armor for Oblivion?

I want to use that for Nagasteim but could not find it.

No, I would make the armor. I'll have to figure out some animating stuff (for flags). I'll do the armor soon, when I do it I'll tell you and you will have to tell me how to link it to you.

There is also the Skyrim Holds guard armor mod my Medtech that has hold guard armour in case that might be something you are looking for. It seems he also paid some attention to the hold symbols; which ones can be made look like the Skyrim ones and which ones cannot because the events resulting in the Skyrim symbols have not yet taken place. Or something like it. In case it might be useful.

Or did you mean something completely different by Hold armour? I just assumed it was Skyrim-related. :)
