bott52 Posted January 31, 2011 Share Posted January 31, 2011 I was wondering how to create weapon mods like in game like to buy the mod off of a vendor that i made i would really like a night scope for Anti-Material rifle but i can only find nightvision scope mods which i dont like personally can anyone help? WastelandAssassin Posted January 31, 2011 Share Posted January 31, 2011 well, you can't really do both (as far as i know)i think that if you want the rifle to have a night scope from a mod, the scope itself must be from a mod (that is as far as i know) as for giving the weapon night vision, just open the GECK, and load the main New Vegas filelook under Items -> Weapon -> weapons -> 2HandRiflein the list you get, find the Anti Material Rifle, right click on it, and choose edit under the Art and Sound tab, at the bottom, there is the box related to scopesjust tag the Has Night Vision box, click ok, and save as a new filenow, when you load this file into the game, the Anti Material Rifle will have nightvision when you use the scope :thumbsup: as for how to make weapon mods, this requires several stagesfirst, you need to actually make the mod itself (which is under Items -> Item Mod)then you need to make the model of the weapon with the mod (you can modify the existing model with NifSkope, to add stuff like scopes, silencers and such)then, all you need to do is set the weapon to use the mod that you have created (look on the weapon page in the GECK, under the Mod Info tab, which should be pretty self explanatory) for adding the items to vendors, you will need to add these items to the leveled lists of items that the vendors sell (look under Items -> Leveled Item) suffice to say that doing this properly will require knowledge and some experience (especially if you plan on making new models for the modified weapons, because it's quite horrible without them, unless the modification isn't meant to be seen)but this is also quite simple to do, if you just know what you are trying to do before starting it hope this helps :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bott52 Posted January 31, 2011 Author Share Posted January 31, 2011 thank you and another thing can't i just grab the varmint rifle night scope and some how and put it on there, in the mod Weapon Mods Expansion there is a Anti-Material rifle mod that use the trail or marksman carbine scope i believe how can i do that or would it be the same thing as u explained? WastelandAssassin Posted January 31, 2011 Share Posted January 31, 2011 i'm not sure i understood your question correctly, but i'll try to answer it as best as i can basically, you can let a weapon use an existing weapon mod, it's really quite easyyou can set a weapon to use whatever weapon mod that you want (i mean, you can make an Anti Material Rifle use a 9mm pistol silencer mod) as for scopes, i haven't tried this, but i'm not sure that you can have a scoped weapon receive nightvision effect through a weapon modas far as i know, it's either the weapon isn't scoped to begin with (like the Vermint rifle), or it's base scope already has nightvisionof course, i've never tried this, so if you want to, you can try this yourself, and see what you get basically, if you want to set a weapon to use a specific mod, look into the Mod Info of that mod, and at the bottom, there will be the mod boxesjust set one of these boxes to have the mod you want (like the 9mm silencer for example)this will not determine the effect of the mod, just which mod it usesfor the effect, the box next to is determines this, and the two boxes next to it determine the values (for example, there is an effect that increases ammo capacity, and if you give the first box a value of 5, then the mod will increase your ammo capacity by 5)the second box is used only in several cases, and i'm not quite sure when (i guess when dealing with spread and such values)but on most cases, leave this box at 0 (unless of course you know what you are doing) hope this answers it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

PyroJesus Posted February 1, 2011 Share Posted February 1, 2011 Okay, here goes.If you just want the Anti-Materiel rifle to have night vision, just open the GECK, load FalloutNV.esm, and open its weapon entry.Then, just go to "Art and Sound", and at the bottom is the "Has Scope" box. Just check the bottom left option, "Has night vision", click OK, save your new .esp, and load it in New Vegas.Done. Making a separate weapon mod for it isn't possible though, at least as far as I know. You'd have to create a separate weapon mod for it, then go to "Art and Sound" and click "Has night vision" and "Comes from weapon mod". This would cause the rifle to no longer be naturally scoped, however, and you'd have to get that weapon mod in order to get both the scope and night vision.Hope that helps! bott52 Posted February 1, 2011 Author Share Posted February 1, 2011 the reason i want the night scope is because its cool and works good but the "has night vision" makes it a night scope but i hate its crosshairs because they are red in the night scope and it just doesnt look right to me maybe if i could find a good crosshair/scope mod itd be good.
