Annoying Drumming Sound

It's been a total nightmare trying to re-install Oblivion on my new computer (Win7/64-bit), but I've finally gotten it up and running with all the DLCs and unofficial patches. I still have a problem and it's driving me absolutely batty. I hear an almost constant repetitive drumming sound. Yes, it sounds like someone hitting a bass drum every few seconds. It seems to be directional and will get louder and softer as I move around but it never stops except for a minute or so at a time, and that's only very rarely.

 

I've tracked this down to Reneer's Guard Overhaul. With just the DLCs and patches installed it doesn't happen. I currently have several other mods installed, and it doesn't happen. As soon as I activate ROG (I'm using an earlier version than the latest, because people are reporting issues with that one) it starts up. Can anyone tell me what this is and how I can get rid of it? Internet searches have yielded only one mod, "Script Sounds Disabled", but that didn't work. I'm even willing to use a mod that completely disables whatever sound file is causing this, if that's necessary, but I just want it to go away.

Jagermh, that worked. Thank you so much. Even disabled, having enabled the removed nif version, it still works. Now, if I could just figure out why cobl won't work, even though it seems to have installed correctly, I'll be a happy camper, but that's another story for another thread if I can't figure it out. Yes, I've done all this, before. I'm not a total newb, and I had Oblivion seriously modded, including a few of my own creation, on my laptop. I'm just running into all sorts of problems with my new desktop, but at least what works looks beautiful with just about all the bells and whistles tweaked to "high". So, I guess I'm not completely dissatisfied with the way things are going.
