hopecandecieve
What I am requesting is an outfit that is comprised of the legs, as in from the waist line down, of the jumpsuit model and the T-shirt torso and arms from the Grunt outfit, also from the waistline up. Now I have already got the two pieces separated into a modular state, meaning I've got the legs and torso as two modular model pieces already, I just can't seem to get the two put together without the limbs going all-out mutated and deformed in the game itself. Now I have been nonchalantly been told that I have to use Blender, but I have NO CLUE as to even the most rudimentary of operating procedures in Blender, so obviously I am avoiding it like the friggin plague. lol I am so damned desperate for this that I am genuinely willing to pay someone through PayPal for their manufacturing and creation of this outfit/armor. lol So, HELP!!! And I've also included the pieces and progress thus far in some screen-caps below. The last pic is what I am trying to achieve, and while it appears to be totally functional and successful in its creation, it is merely and illusion I am afraid to say. I can get it into the game, but as I said above, the limps always start going all gnarly and contorted in inhuman ways the instant I put the damned thing on. lol http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/6323/grunttorso.jpghttp://img69.imageshack.us/img69/38/jumpsuitlegs.jpghttp://img51.imageshack.us/img51/7379/thedeceitfullookofappea.jpg
Fumofumo
Pretty sure I can do this for you for free in like 5 minutes... Just send me a link to the file as it looks simple enough. Dismemberment probably won't work though. Edited February 1, 2011 by Fumofumo
hopecandecieve
I cannot even BEGIN to tell you how thankful I am to you for your willingness to do this and how much I appreciate it. I have literally been struggling with this for months now. lol I have included the two armors that the torso and legs came from in their unedited form as well as the dissected ones of just the legs and the torso. On the legs and torso ones, I have already removed the bogus nodes and reordered the blocks. There is also something else that I was hoping to ask as well. That being, is there any possibility you might be willing to send me a tutorial or step-by-step on how exactly you are going to do this so that I can hopefully employ it in the future? I ask because there are actually a handful of armors whose pieces and components I would love to combine. I know that I am already asking a lot by asking you to do the merge job for me without any money exchanging hands, so I would understand if you didn't want to have to take the time to write up a how-to that my NifSkope illiterate dufus-ass could understand. lol And again, I really and truly do appreciate this on an absolutely epic scale. :D Ah s***... I tried just now to attach a zip file with the 4 files contained within it to this response but it is saying that the file size is too damned big to attach. Is there any other specific way you would prefer for me to send you the zip through? The only one that I am fluent with is through hotmail, but I would understand if you didn't want to give your prime e-mail addy out to just anyone. But if it makes any difference, I can assure you that your addy would be safe through-and-through if you gave it to me. And after all, I'M the one who's asking for YOUR help after all right? lol
Fumofumo
You can always try uploading it to Mediafire or 4Shared. Or pack it into a bitesize Rar. Anyway, I'm not entirely sure how tedious it will be to put this together until I actually see the meshes. I can probably write up a step by step too. Gonna do some homework so I'll check back later. Oh and if that doesn't work, I'll PM you my email later or something. P.S. You really shouldn't have to pay anyone to do something like this because it generally goes against some sort of EULA or something complicated and lawfully technical, etc. Sort of the equivalent to charging someone for mods, which is illegal, and reminds me too much of the SIMS series... hopecandecieve
http://www.mediafire.com/?z74qo5ys8dm5bw7 Here are the meshes for ya. :) And just as a little post-script, people like you are really and truly the only proof in existence that there are in deed still a few good people in the world. So again, I really do thank you for this and appreciate it immensely. If there is ever ANYTHING that I could do for you, just name it. :D
Fumofumo
Some simple steps so you can do it yourself with Blender regardless of thread title!1. Open Blender!2. Import the Legs and then Import the Torso with Import Animation and Nodes unchecked!3. Select Dumbbell Shaped Items in your Window then Delete! These are bones that aren't functional!4. Edit meshes, delete odd chunks, etc, or don't.5. Hopefully you have the Fallout New Vegas Skeleton unpacked! If not, open FOMM, use it's BSAUnpacker and simply just grab the skeleton.6. Return to Blender, hit A, all meshes will be selected thereby turning pink!7. Import the Fallout New Vegas Skeleton with Import Skeleton Only+Parent to Selected!8. Select Skeleton only, Export using Default Settings and check Shadow Maps in the Top Right Corner.9. Open Nif.10. Select whatever NiTriStrips is the skin/body/etc and open it in the Block List.11. Select BSShaderPPLightingProperty and look at the bottom header.12. Scroll down and change Shader Type from Default to Skin then Select the BSShaderFlags and add WindowEnvironmentMapping.13. Right click into the blackness around the mesh in the window, then batch Update All Tangent Spaces.14. Save and Test for Win? What I am assuming occurred in your attempt to combine two meshes is that the Nodes for individual bones got screwed over after you deleted the blocks that represented the legs in the original mesh. Might possibly be due to having optimized and removed bogus nodes, etc, I wouldn't know since I don't know the procedure you took to do this. Simply adding a new Skeleton and exporting from Blender solves the problem. Also, always after having imported an armor, delete the old bones and import a new skeleton unless you do actually get that NifSkope thing working the way you would like it to work. I think TG had a tutorial with his armor set or something, too lazy to look ATM. In other news, here is fixed file for your usage and it includes a picture of what it looks like. http://www.mediafire.com/?sgplo4b1ejice1e
hopecandecieve
I really cannot even begin to describe how friggin AWESOME you are!!! I bow down and kneel in your presence and I'm also now eternally indebted to you, so if there is ever ANYTHING IMAGINABLE that you could need from me or ask of me, your word is my command. lol But enough of the ass-kissery for a bit, I've got yet another question fo ya. That being do you happen to know much about UV Mapping a texture? I'm asking because I have a jeans texture that I've made from real denim and an actual pair of jeans that I own and frequently wear, but I am having a bit of a problem with it visually in the game. To be exact, it constantly looks like the jeans are damned near blindingly white. lol Now the jeans color is a light blue washed denim, but I think it is literally reflecting or mirroring all of the light that hits them, even during the NIGHT when I am near a light source like a floodlight or flaming barrel. I know this has something to do with the UV Mapping of the texture and how it is reflecting the white light back, but I have no idea what the hell I am supposed to do to remedy it. If you would like or if it would help, I can send you the textures (I've made 3 different textures from 3 different pairs of jeans I own all of which vary in color from a dark nearly indigo blue, a sky/baby/light blue that I mentioned above as the worst of the reflection problem, and a sand washed light blue of which is actually my favorite) so that you can check them out for yourself and use if you like them enough. They are for the jumpsuit outfit mesh by the way. Well, let me know when you get the chance.
hopecandecieve
Here are some screen captures of the textures that I'm talking about. The one that just looks like a big black square at the very last one of the images is actually the UV map/Normal Map that I have been having to use. Now obviously it doesnt take a master texturizer to be able to tell that something horribly wrong with that UV Map. lol I simply just dont know how the hell to make a new one or to fix that one. http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/5813/nomexblack.jpghttp://img43.imageshack.us/img43/120/nomexgreen.jpghttp://img227.imageshack.us/img227/175/nomexgrey.jpghttp://img99.imageshack.us/img99/2589/tacsoftshellandjumpsuit.jpg
Fumofumo
Your normal map isn't particularly normal. What program are you using for editing your textures? Also, the Specular map and Normal map are contained in the same file for Fallout. How brightly reflective/shiny, etc, is controlled by the Specular map which is simply an Alpha 1 Layer on the normal map. Darker equating less shiny, vice versa for exceedingly shiny. You might be able to simply get by using the pre-existing normal map that was included with the pants too.
