First time modding Oblivion, do these mods play well with each other?

I am trying to get a combat/gameplay experience that's hopefully even slightly simiar to Duel Combat Realism from Skyrim, meaning, similar to vanilla but ten times better:

Duke's Combat Archery

Vanilla Combat Enhanced

Tactical Combat

Better Blocking

Balanced Magic

Unidirectional Attack

Migck's Fixes

Sneak Detection Recalibrated

As far as I can tell, only Tactical Combat seems to adjust enemy combat AI to a certain degree, while the rest mess with various damage values and stuff.

I would also like to use Maskar's Overhaul, but I can't tell if it's compatible with all this or not @_@

Final question: Is Supreme Magicka worth it, or do I stick with Balanced Magic? Also, is Deadly Reflexes 5 worth chucking the above combination away for, 6 seems a bit unstable?

Maskar's is compatible with just about everything and should be compatible with all of these. Supreme Magicka is amazing and highly tweakable via ini, but make sure to make the changes Maskar mentions in MOO's readme to use them together.

I'm unfamiliar with most of your combat mods. That said, I'm always nervous adding several mods that all effect the same thing. Almost certainly, one or more of these interfere with each other. Also, they may not play well together, as most mods like these are balanced to be used alone. For instance, Migck's Fixes are great, but some of them can make the game impossible when combined with other mods - and the damage stuff is almost always accounted for in the balance of combat mods and/or overhauls. I can say that there are three all-encompassing combat mods that I hear mentioned time and time again: Unnecessary Violence III, Deadly Reflex (can't advise you about the version, I'm afraid) and Duke Patrick's mods. I would definitely consider going with one of these, SDR and maybe Migck's Fixes. If you just really want one of the others on your list, you might want to start with one or two and slowly add any others so you can see how they play together and whether they create any weird interactions.

Lol, I'm just now learning that modding is hard, and I've been playing with it for like a year and a half now.
