Kligan
I misspelled the title... It should be: "Country withdrawn from the coucil after successful completion of terror mission?! (Long War)". So... What the hell? Ok, ok, let me star from the begining...At the begining of this run I set my base in Japan (with Long War installed). It has been three in-game months since I started, when another large UFO showed up near Japan. At this point things were going pretty well for me - I only had two countries withdrawn and I had 3/4 satelite coverage over Asia. The panic level throughout all the countries, except for those two that I lost already, was mostly in the "green" zone. Some in the "blue" and couple in "yellow".Japan in particular had almost non-existent panic level - it was literally only couple pixels on the bar. And here it is - after the UFO landed and started the terror mission, I gathered my best troops to deal with it. I couldn't lose Japan since they gave me the most money. I completed the mission with 0 casualties for my troops.I got the screen that was saying "X-COM has successfuly prevented the terror attack@ or something along those lines. And then in the same debriefing message "Japan has withdrawn from the council." What? How? Why? Somebody explain please! dubiousintent
Long War is discussed in the "XCOM File Discussions" section of the forum. Your best bet is to search the Feedback thread for the beta version of LW you are playing. You may also find the "Strategy" thread and "Long War wiki" of some help. -Dubious- Edited June 19, 2015 by dubiousintent
Krazyguy75
As he said, put it in the other section. However, there is an obvious explanation for this: What country gives a damn about how many agents you lose? It's about protecting their citizens from alien attacks! To make it more clear, long war terror attack are for terror's sake. It's a suicide rush to kill as many normal people as possible before you get there. If a single citizen dies, the aliens won that fight, and panic will increase. If more die, it increases significantly more. A "save 1 and let the rest die" is no longer the best strategy for winning a terror mission. The best strategy is shooting down the terror UFO before it begins a terror mission. Once a terror mission starts, you can expect a country to gain at least 3-4 panic bars.
