AschLavigne
A while ago I found, I can't for the life of me remember where, probably on this site somewhere, a file that contained all the .mrh files for every character in Origins. Which I loved finding because now I can make my own faces for whoever I wish. I was wondering; One, If someone knew where that file was if they could provide the link for me please. And Two, Does anyone know if there is a file that contains the same thing but for Awakening? I see Velana and Sigrun and whoever else morphs so I assume the files are out there somewhere but I have not been able to find them, so again, if someone knows where I can download those I'd be very appreciative. Thandal
Hey there, AschLavign; Not sure, but it was unlikely to have been here, since the BioWare .mrh files are all copyrighted internal game assets. Same reason that clips from the soundtracks aren't available on Nexus. (Might have been a LISTING of them posted so that players could find the files themselves...) DarkeWolf
Heyas! the files that you are looking for are over on the BSN. http://social.bioware.com/project/1331/core and single player headmorphs.ziptho I've had issues with trying to change those, but maybe I'm just missing something, LOL.And, as listed in the description, the face for leliana is bugged. The awakening face .mrh files, I have not seen nor was able to find :( Hope this helps!-DW Edited February 1, 2011 by DarkeWolf

Thank you so much. I have not had a problem with Leliana though. I guess I'll keep looking for the Awakening files. Thank you very much again. Thandal
Hey DW; I (almost) never look over on the BSN for files so I didn't know these were available. (I may have to dedicate some bandwidth to acquiring them this evening.) But since they are, it sparked a question: BioWare/EA can, of course, host anything to do with the game on their own site, but what about here? Would extracted game assets be allowed? DarkeWolf
AschLavigneno problem at all, I'm glad that I was able to help you out with at least part of your quest :)I havent tried the leliana morph myself, but did see it mentioned on the mod page. Thought it worth repeating ;) But good to hear :)Ok, now a question of my own, if you don't mind. Color me curious, but what does " AschLavigne" Mean or where does it come from? Thandal- Yeah, I dont go over there very much either. I guess I'm just not used to their site, but it's not... user friendly, for the way that my brain processes things. I'd say to go ahead and do it. I did, the very first time that I came across that set of files.Good question about assets. I asked it myself a few months ago. ;) AND it was in regards to somebody distributing the .mrh and .mor files, at that! We'll allow uploads if the files are data only. Which morph files are. They are just a list of dialer settings, and a list of filenames. No graphical content at all. By themselves, you can't do anything with a dial setting, or just a list of filenames. It requires the specific game, in order to use them. Which is why we'll allow them, unless BW says they dont want us to. In which case we will comply and remove the ones that we find, if any.Files that contain distribution meshes, textures, maps, audio files, video files, stuff like that... no. Same with core files that are contained in say... BSA files like FO, and FONV. Because those CAN be used in other programs, and be used to make ports/conversions into other games. So for instance just uploading say... the stock Morrigan face morph is fine. However, if somebody uploaded the voice files for her, which can be converted and used for other purposes, we'd act on it. Or like if somebody uploaded a modified version of Denerim. As long as the files dont include ALL of the stuff necessary to reproduce denerim in another game....IE, JUST the modified files, it's ok. If they uploaded all the textures, meshes, and all the settings for putting them all together, then there would be a problem. Hope that makes sense ;)-DW

AschLavigne
Ok, now a question of my own, if you don't mind. Color me curious, but what does " AschLavigne" Mean or where does it come from? The name came from a character from a D&D game. It was a few years ago but I think I chose Asch because the character was dealing with the loss of his wife and chose the name to symbolize that he felt like he wasn't that same person anymore. Like how ashes are left over, if that makes any sense. I put the c in the name to make it seem different. Lavigne is ... I don't remember where that came from, some people guess I took it from Avril Lavigne, which for all I know, that was how it popped into my head but I can't remember, again, it was a few years ago. But that's basically your answer, a D&D character. Yes, I am a dork. :P
AschLavigne
I posted this topic on the Bioware forum as well, since that was where the files came from, I figured asking over there would be a good idea. Someone said they PM'd the developers about this. If they reply favorably I will post here and let you all know. Keep your fingers crossed. Thandal- yeah, but more to the point is that in the situation with DA face morphs, its because the files arent really anything more than a list. There's nothing else in them other than numbers and names. If they had to include texture files with them, if they were distributing the original unmodified textures along with the files, that might cause a problem.Tho too it kinda depends on the company that we'd be dealing with. Like I said before, if Company X says that they don't want those kinds of files being distributed, we'd comply. Asch- ahhhh I see. So it's two words put together. With a custom spelling. Much the same as mine is. Cool, thanks for explaining and catering to my curiosity :)I totally understand. "Darke" was the name of one of my old Vampire the Masquerade characters, waaaaaay back when I did a bit of LARPing. I threw the "E" at the end just to make his name "different" much like you did with "Ash". And then later on, I adapted the name for a Ultima Online character that I made, and well... it's just stuck with me ever since. LOL.Hahaha and hey... lets watch what we say about D&D gamers lol. :)I started playing D&D when I was about 10, and played for about 15 years til our gaming group fell apart. I suspect that you are talking about the .mrh files for the awakening characters? That would be cool, yes... please keep us posted on how that comes out :D
