vvk78
Raith0017, I think I know exactly what you are looking for, but you are not explaining it properly. Do you mean this, this, this, this or maybe this? Edited February 13, 2011 by vvk78
IgnorantBeast101
lol. this might be a bit late, but I figured out that after you get through the sewers, you can go to the prison and walk through the same door. But that's after, so it might not be what he's/she's looking fer.
reaper9111
Well, by what i'm reading here, all you want is to skip the Tutorial dungeons... or what ?If this is what you want, why don't you just Search for "Alternative Start, Arrive by Ship" mod, this will position you on one of the 3 port of Cyodiil, and give you more start option in a few second...I hav'nt read all the post, and yours is not very expressive on what / why you want to go trough that door...Here's the mod : Alternative Start, Arrive by ShipBest of LuckReaper
Ferryt
The first part of the tutorial, beginning with the prison cell, takes place in the ImperialDungeon01 area. The door in question can be unlocked from the console (just bring it up, click on the door, and type "unlock"). It will eventually lead to where you exit the cave and jump down to re-join the Emperor and his guards. This is ImperialDungeon02. I've never actually tried to bypass the second tutorial section (where you meet all the rats and goblins and collect gear), although I have unlocked that door and followed the Emperor through to the beginning of ImperialDungeon02 just out of curiosity. He and his guards just stop in-place in the corridor because they're waiting for you to show up after finishing the tutorial. While the guards will make appropriate comments like "I'm watching you!" they won't move. If you unlock the next door you'll find an assassin waiting behind it, but he won't do anything, either. That's as far as I've gone. Long story short, yes, it would be relatively easy to create a mod that unlocks the doors for you so you can just exit to the sewers, but, really, what's the point when there are alternative start mods that completely bypass this part of the game? I may actually start playing around with some of those, although my preference really is to begin the game at the exit of the Imperial Prison Sewers because I like to make Vilverin and Aleswell my first priorities after making an inner and then outer circuit of Lake Rumare to collect as much sell-able stuff as I can. What I've been doing, lately, is just running through the tutorial as fast as I can in Godmode. I already know all this stuff and I know I can get through it, so why bother with a bunch of rats, goblins, and mudcrabs that I've killed over-and-over already? Bethesda really should have given us an option to completely bypass the tutorial, but in their infinitesimal wisdom they chose to make veteran players suffer through it on every new game. They stop because theres an XMarker at that hole that toggles their AI. You have to tcl up there, then walk through the hole.
Taurni
Umm you guys are all wrong. I have on several playthrouhs gone through that door. you just have to get through before the last NPC dose. No mod necessary. No consul command
Ferryt
When someone corrects me I always assume I'm wrong until I double-check. So, I double-checked and started a new game with a PC called "Test". I can verify that, at least for me, the door in question remains fully locked during the entire time that the NPCs are passing through it. At no point was I able to transition to the next area. I used the console to unlock the door to try LordFrostcraig's idea, since that would, in fact, be the way I'd set this up if I were designing the dungeon, myself. The result was that I was unable to toggle noclip because it was set on the door. There is, of course, no place to point which doesn't point to an object, so I tried something else. prid playertcl I got the response Ref 'Test' Collison -> Off So far so good ... but no "noclip"! This means that, at least in my case, there's no way to continue the Main Quest, short of backtracking and wandering through the tutorial dungeon to get to that marker on the ledge. The other door leading out is locked, of course, so you have to use the console to open it. Walk around the assassin, who will remain inert, and you can then wander through the dungeon to the Sanctum door, although you'll be accosted by a band of six Assassins. Yes, I had Godmode set and, yes, I killed them with the console. Use the console to unlock the Sanctum door and go on through and you'll be in the area where the Blades find that the gate is locked and decide to try the "other door". You'll find that the secret passage where the Assassin who kills the Emperor comes out cannot be opened, so you have to go back to the gate and unlock it with the console, right? The gate cannot be "unlocked", or at least it can, but it doesn't open when you try to activate it. So, I tried to click on it and set its collision off. I learned something very interesting. While the console reported that collision was off for the gate, it actually turned off collision on the PC! Unexpected behavior. So, I hurried back to the hole that separates the cave from the dungeon. First try didn't trigger the Emperor and the Blades. The second try I wandered a little more back into the cave and returned, and it did. Bottom line -- at least for me on this try there is no way out without either following the intended quest or using the console. I strongly suspect that attempting to do will break the Main Quest, unless you exit at the sewer exit and click through the menu that comes up, since I presume that's what sets the proper quest stage, although even that is problematical, since you don't have the Amulet of Kings.
