ReALty
Are you sure the right analog stick is mapped correctly. I have a Sidewinder that was a bear to map sometimes. Hmmm.... maybe I ought to pull it out and try using it again. Edited February 6, 2011 by ReALty
Megatarius
If the return date is still good, I recommend taking that back and looking online for a controller that comes with software for mapping keyboard buttons to the controller. You might try getting a 360 controller (for PC, they come with adapters), and then downloading X-Padder. I haven't used it, but I think it does what I described. Oblivion doesn't work with controllers without huge hassles and round-about tricks. The best thing to do is fool it into thinking you're using a keyboard and mouse. AxlRocks
As Megatarius said, you can buy a 360 controller if you like it, and use Xpadder to basically trick Oblivion. If you prefer another controller, I'm not sure if Xpadder works with most others, however, I think it does. The only problem is Xpadder isn't freeware anymore, it's $9.99USD. It does indeed work very well though for Oblivion as well as other games. In fact, it will work for ANY game that has no controller support. It works because it simulates pressing keys, moving the mouse, or scroll wheel when you press buttons on the controller. I used to play Oblivion on 360, and I can honestly say with a 360 controller and Xpadder, with just a few tweaks, it actually felt like playing it on 360. (Oh, and you save profiles for each game, so you can actually save your settings for each and every game, without having to change it over and over.) Besides it being $9.99, if you want to put out a little extra cash (through PayPal by the way), it probably is worth it if you play a lot of older games or games without controller support. I've never had a problem buying used 360 controllers as well, which can be a decent amount cheaper, but that may just be luck lol Hope I was of some help.
