beddlum
Alright... So I've never played oblivion before, I installed francesco's so the leveling is more scaled. That being said, my first character is a caster; high elf, atronach, mage. So where do I start off? I went to start the main quest, but no luck there, couldn't even get into the oblivion gate never mind do whatever I have to do once in there. so where should I level? Where should I go? Any general tips here?It will be my first time using a leveling mod myself. Ordinarily I lean towards the sneak/marksman road. What I did was hone those skills such as acrobatics (by jumping off cliffs) and skulking around jacking people's loots in the shadows. It seems a whole new world with some of these mods. Got to love Elder Scrolls.
vvk78
If you are still struggling with combat due to your character class or birthsign, you can offset it by recruiting some companions. Take a look at CM Partners and CSR, which can help to get battle-hardened companions/NPCs as partner recruits. Since you installled Francesco's, I am assuming you know how to install/use mods. Still, if you need further help, take a look on UESP and the TESNexus Wiki. If you don't want to use mods, you can still get some backup. When you start completing the Fighters' Guild and Mages Guild quests, you can later get some assistance from the guild members, for completing those tough dungeons and quests.
