Clean Install, any recommendations?

Okay, so I re-installed Oblivion for the 100th time, the disc is getting small chips at this point from so many inserts, just waiting for the old CD-ROM to snap in half one of these days. I swear this is one of the last remaining original discs from the original March 2006 release. Comment if you still have yours! Anyways, I've reinstalled and I would like a list of mandatory mods. I've updated to the latest and I'm D/Ling the UOP now. I've got my own Alternate Start mod that I use. I'm thinking the Skyrim Khajiit mod that I always use, but it's low-res and I want some higher resolution textures for it.

Anybody got any ideas?

I have my original Oblivion CD.

Just before getting it my NOLF CD exploded taking out a DVD drive and power pack.

Up until getting most games online I backed up installations and used NoCD cracks.

Despite this a number of disks Bethesda provided, such as Fallout 3 died despite almost no use and I've ended up purchasing them twice.

I like your IC waterfront home add on but as I posted kahjiits have a bit of a reputation - hehe.

You asked about mods to install so I really have to recommend Nagasteim: Blood of Direnni.

Okay, okay, it's my mod but if you time to do some "BREAK testing" it really needs it.

I'm sooo close yet sooo far from finishing it.

I need to put in a few routines to take the player across The Isles of Nagasteim, some final trips to Atalasili (a realm of Auyri-El) then the all out boss fight at the palace.

The palace took me quite a lot of number crunching to get it to where I wanted as it's aspects relate to certain things about the Aedra as well as Deadra - let alone Ceyada from the Merithic Era.

Unfortunately, the top files list is mostly utility mods, as I'm sure you noticed. And several of them are outdated or incompatible with one another.

That said. Oblivion Character Overhaul v2 is a must-have. So is either All Natural or Atmospheres. For replaying Oblivion, you can't go wrong with a good quest mod or two. A few to think about are Integration (look for the Integrated version!), Lost Spires, and Kvatch Rebuilt. All are top-quality, very popular, lore-friendly mods that add a good amount of content. The various overhauls are worth a try. Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul and WAC (Waalx's Animals and Creatures) are both excellent mods. Honestly though, I would just browse the available mod categories. You seem familiar with modding, so I imagine you've heard of many of these. What speciically are you looking for?
