Dodgen
Got a new mod, wlidkin Adept specialization. The read me doesn't contain any instructions for the install. Do i have to have a mod manager like i did for fall out 3, or can i/ should i manually install my mods. For either answer, links for where i can find out how to do these things? Thanks. PS> I have played and beaten this game plus all DLC from Bioware on the X BOX. Lookin for somethin' to spice the game up a bit. Small changes to make the game more enjoyable. Haven't tried this one, so not sure about any "Readme" packed with the files, but here's the info from the "Description" tab, (and I had to laugh when I realized that it's all placed AFTER a dozen huge screenshots that distract from what most people want to learn.): ======================== INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Using DAModder:1. Drag "orgo_wild_origins.dazip" and "orgo_wild_awakening.dazip" in DAModder and let it install (unzip from archive first)2. Launch the game and enjoy :) Installing with the DAupdater may cause issues:1. Open the program daupdater.exe, which is in your Dragon Age\bin_ship folder.2. Click "Select DAZIPs".3. Locate the .dazip that you downloaded (extract from "zip" archive first).4. Select the .dazip after it has appeared on the list and then press "Install Selected".5. Launch the game and enjoy :) YOU MUST MANUALLY RESPEC ANY CHARACTERS FROM v1.0! IT WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE THE OLD SKILLS! Use this mod for the respec: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1086I have already included the required .gda.And of course, you must also delete the old version of the mod ======================== UNINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Uninstall with DAModder or delete the folder. ======================== COMPATIBILITY I specifically designed this mod to be compatible with the Chantry Monk mod. Tell me if you have any other compatibility issues. All important files are standalone and should be compatible with any other mods as well as both Origins and Awakening. I have also included a compatibility file for the custom skills respec mod in DANexus. ======================== FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ----CONSOLE COMMANDS---- runscript givewildspecThis gives the wildkin adept specialization to your character. runscript getallwildthis gives every single skill in this mod to the character. 1. Q. The mod does not start.A: This is a rogue specialization. You need to start as a rogue to gain access to these talents. 2. Q: The ability animations don't work. A: This is a problem with mod conflict. It shouldn't happen, but just in case If it does, post in the comments. 3. Q: The player's face is deformed when some skills are cast.A: As said in the descriptions, this is an unavoidable side effect of using some monster animations on humanoids. It is explained in lore >.< I can't change it. 4. Q: I want monster skill X, but it's not in!A: I tried to put in as wide a variety of skills as possible. If many people want to put in a certain skill, then I'll consider it. 5. Q: I WANT THESE SKILLS BEFORE REACHING LEVEL 7 -OR- I WANT THESE SKILLS AS A MAGE/WARRIOR!!A: Use the included console commands. For just getting the specialization, use runscript givewildspec. To get all the skills, use runscript getallwild. The runscript getallwild will probably add more skills than you have quickslots for. :/ If you do, then just use the runscript addtalent and go to the individual skill ID index. Also, these command will overwrite your current quickslot setup with all the skills. 6. I had a character from v1.0 and none of his skills are changed.A: YOU MUST MANUALLY RESPEC ANY CHARACTERS FROM v1.0! IT WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE THE OLD SKILLS! Use this mod for the respec: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1086I have already included the required .gda.And of course, you must also delete the old version of the mod. 7. Q: I want this as a class, not a specialization.A: Sorry, but I want the mod to be compatible with Awakening, and the only way for that to work is by making it a specialization. ========================
Dodgen
Well...I read that. I guess i expected to see some changes, like an icon or something of the sort under the specializations tabs in the level up screen, which wasn't there. I guess i will have to play through to level 7 to find out if i installed correctly. Brand new game, straight out of the box. So i don't know if it has the proper updates. Also, pretty new to PC gaming. I was big into it about...10 years or more ago...wow... So my mind is somewhat blown. I am no longer computer savvy. Thanks. Ill see in a couple days if I Installed it correctly.

Dodgen
Okay. This is frustrating. I installed the mod with DA Modder as instructed. Today, thanks to another persons questions, i figured out how to get my developers console working. I tried to do the whole runscript givewildspec, and runscript getallwild. Nothing is happening. Any suggestions on how to get it to install/ work properly?

Any suggestions on how to get it to install/ work properly?Whn you say "nothing is happening", do you mean that you can't even tell if the Console Command returned "Success", or not? Have you installed: "Make Console Commands Visible" so you can see what you're typing and if the game acknowledges it?
Dodgen
Saw that. Didn't install it though. I got it to work. Finally. Still some bugs but i'll e-mail the mod developer about those. Thanks!

Thanks!Glad to hear you got it sorted. Presume you meant you got "Wildkin Adept" working, (and not "Make Console Commands Visible". ) What fixed it? And what issues are you still having? If you'll share what you learned, maybe we can help the next player more efficiently. Thanks!
Dodgen
I downloaded the compatibility patch. Looked the mod up, found the patch, installed it, and it worked! Sadly, if you use the scripts to get the skills outside of being a rogue, you dont get to pick and choose what you get. they just appear in your quickslots, and you can choose from those. As a rogue it adds the skill trees into your skills menu. Interesting class.
Thandal
Ahhhh... Interesting about both the compatibility issues and the "auto-populate the QuickBar". Those are really good things to know about this mod. Thx again! /gives kudos
