ChiefyWombat
I absolutely love this game. It exceeded my expectations exponentially, surprising me. Honestly it is the first game in a long time that has actually put a smile on my face. It made me feel the same emotions I felt when I bought my first game system and first game (Morrowind for the original Xbox) and discovered the RPG for the very first time. I dabble in mods for games I enjoy but mostly keep them to myself as they're just small edits here and there that make my play-through more tuned to my tastes. I have seen a lot of the mods on the Nexus that are using batch files to accomplish the modders goals. I understand it can be hard getting the batch files right and often times even harder when you have no way of knowing exactly what went wrong. Here is what I propose: I am pretty decent in AutoIt (Also know some VB.net) and am always looking to increase my knowledge/experience. I would love to help some of the mod creators out by making a program to better implement the modifications you've created. *I could help you with mod installation items such as: GUI's, bug reporting/error reporting, and the tasks related to the mod process unique to your modification.* You would have better control over the end user experience, as well as the quality of the process. You can reply here or PM me if you would like my help. Edit: Just in-case it's not clear: Free of charge, you retain the rights, and you get the source code... I'm not looking to gain anything, only trying to help out the people making the game more enjoyable. Edited June 19, 2015 by ChiefyWombat
DiamondMind28
The code with these batch files is actually rather simple; it's a line or less. The bigger problem isn't for modders to get the batch file right, but for users to put everything in the right place and keeping track of all of it, as well as bods making the changes to the same .xml. Edit: I just saw you posted in my topic. Weird coincidence. Edited June 20, 2015 by DiamondMind28
ChiefyWombat
I understand, which is why I'm offering a way to better manage the installation process overall. I can help to provide a way to automatically backup the modded files during installation, restore if bugs/errors appear, and help report bugs and errors better. I'm offering a better end user experience, not a change in the mod itself.
