ariock
Hi there. I have problems with custom races mods in the sense they for most of them they tend to disable some of the NPC sounds. I tried editing them to rename the races to original values, but no luck especially as I don't have a clue the name I should give to a new race... Any body having an idea on how to make the game think you are of 'this' or 'that' race? (Which so far is the only way I can think of to get back the sounds and other race based stuff while still playing a custom race without 'editing' an existing race...) Abramul
I'm pretty sure it would only be a matter of cloning dialogue. However:A) I haven't really looked at Oblivion's dialogue much. It appears that, like Morrowind, al the combat dialogue is under its own tab.B) There are significant bugs you can run into if you try copying existing dialogue. Povu can tell you more. Guest Tessera
Unfortunately, the best "fix" for this problem is to simply stop using poorly-written mods. There's an increasing number of amateurishly-produced Oblivion mods these days... and the resulting bug reports are flooding in all over the web. He, well, you may be right, but on the other if nobody is going to explain how to fix that, then these mods will never get better quality... I've been looking at the idea of cloning the dialogs, the problem is I don't see the "voice" tab anywhere... Isn't it supposed to be in "Filtered Dialogs" somewhere? The second problem I see, is that it may resolve the sound problem, but it will still cause problems with other race based stuff... (anyway, it would already be a start...) BTW, if you have a good custom race mod to direct me at (one that has none of these bugs) I'll be very interested to try them out, and maybe I can get ideas how to fix those I'm currently trying to use... The only custom race mod that I use is Ren's Mystic Elves. I've never had a single problem of any kind with them. Here's a cute Mystic Elf female that I made: http://www.tessmage.com/images/raven_face_small_01.jpg http://www.tessmage.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10001/normal_Raven_steel_goddess_cuirasse_001.jpg You can get Ren's mod in various places. The version that I use is called"Ren's Beauty Pack - FULL" and I host a copy of it HEREYou can also find it on other sites, if you hunt around a bit. Mystic Elves come in tattooed and non-tattooed versions in that mod. They're fun. 8)
ariock
Hi, the problem is Ren's mod is one of the mods for which I have sound problems... (I'm playing French game) I know it must be linked with some translation problem, and I saw some post stating to rename the races with original French names in Ren's mod, but this produced no result for me... (anyway, it would already be a start...)There is a filtered dialogue window. You can open it by clicking on the white speech balloon. But this is not recommended because it's an unsafe way of editing dialogue. It's very easy to create bugs using it, so instead you should use the dialogue tabs in the quest editor window, which you can open by clicking on the black Q.
