Dorbson
I had a pretty good idea for a new shop. It would be a shop that only sells meat and would include a butcher and a shop keep. The butcher would spend his days in the back doing his thing (maybe hacking away at some hanging carcasses with a meat cleaver) while the shop keep handled customers. This would add some new immersion to the world if players were able to go out and hunt dear and other animals and then sell the items to the butcher shop for higher prices than a regular inn or tavern merchant would pay for them. You could then make the meat bought at the butcher shop be of a higher quality. You could make a living hunting animals and selling the meat to the butcher. Citizens could then flock to the store and it would create a supply and demand aspect that would make hunting certain animals more profitable at different times. I have a vision of an entire overhaul of the food system for Oblivion, unfortunately I have just entered the modding scene and I have yet to learn the basics on how to bring some of my ideas to fruition. I like realism mods that force the players to eat and drink but it just seems too easy to get the food. Imagine if all the merchants were stripped of food in their inventory unless deliveries were made from surrounding farms and hunters. Vineyards and breweries would come into play along with other various methods of food production and delivery. Imagine your player starving and searching the land over for food and then seeing a deer in the distance, knowing that that deer will provide food for you to survive another day or two. As you go out to hunt it, an NPC hunter comes along and gets the kill before you. You watch as he loots the body and heads towards town to make some coin from the butcher. You stand there in disbelief with your stomach growling. Do you just move on and try to find another source of food? Maybe you would rather stalk this hunter, kill him and steal his loot. Take what you need and sell the rest to the butcher. This could be a whole new way of playing the game. Maybe you wanted to wait around for the new shipments of corn coming in and ambush the delivery guy to try and make a quick buck at the farmers market. Or even sneak onto farms at night and just get your food there. You could take it a step further and have guards outside the farms and escorting the deliveries. This would force the player to wait around for the deliveries in town with the rest of the hungry people. I have many more ideas revolving around this idea that I will continue to share with everyone. Until then I'm going to test some things out and get my hands dirty with this thing. Like I said I'm very inexperienced with the construction set so any pointers will help. This is a really expansive idea but I have seen mods created that I would have never thought possible before. Maybe an experienced modder who has some time on his hands would like to take a look at this project.
coreypikes
...... :wallbash: Ok man, first, thats an interesting idea, but I don't think it's feasible (atleast not as complex as you envision it, but hey, never doubt the abilities of the community). Second, a wall of text is never a good thing. I honestly think of all the people that will view this topic only a handful will read it. Do yourself a favor and edit it. Not tryin to be a jerk, but yeah, message board etiquette man.

Genzel
Tl;dr Just kidding, but you should probably break it up into paragraphs... Anyway, if you wanted to start out simple and work out in complexity you could increase the price of pelts and animal meats to begin. Then you could add some butcher shops and go from there adding traveling food merchants and farms (Oblivion only has a handful of farms to feed the entire "cosmopolitan" province of Cyrodiil) This is a big request, so it is often best to slowly add to your idea and work on it yourself while you learn. The final mod you are hoping for would have to change every character's AI and would conflict with a bunch of stuff.
