renegadespoon
thanks for the link, its explaining things a lot better. but i still have the problem of my file not opening. the falloutNV.esm opens fine (it was an esm file from the beginning), but the file for my new world is an esp and i keep getting the error message i posted earlier whenever i try to open it, so it won't appear in the FormID panel on the left so i can't flip it to an esm file. its also coming up with this message: Background Loader: [FalloutNV.esm] Warning: File contains duplicated top level group: GRUP Top "AMEF"
davidlallen
Fnvedit is excellent at catching real problems in your mod. Geck has bugs, where it will accidentally duplicate groups which should be unique. The second message you have shown is a "warning", which will not prevent you from going further. In fact, saving with fnvedit sometimes clears up these accidental duplications by itself. To solve the first message from earlier in your thread:Background loader: Fatal: <exception form ID [00160C43] in file FalloutNV.esm referes to master file FalloutNV.esm which has not been assigned a global load order>When you open fnvedit, don't select falloutnv.esm. Only select your mod. Within the mod data, it knows what other files to open. I think you are instructing fnvedit to open this file twice.

davidlallen
Let's solve one problem at a time. My original suggestion was that changing from esp to esm may fix the problems with navmesh. So, in fnvedit, change to esm and save, without worrying about any other messages for now. Does that make your NPCs use the navmesh better? If so, good, one problem solved. You may find that if you bring up the esm in fnvedit later, it gives fewer warnings, because it may solve some on its own during write. We can worry about those warnings separately. renegadespoon
the data is supposed to be in the form id the blank page on the left but nothing is comming up on the form id so im guessing that i have to get rid of the warnings for it to come up in form id
davidlallen
I am not able to understand that. Are you able to switch the ESM bit using the instructions in the pdf?
renegadespoon
i've taken some screen pics so you can see whats going on, it's easier than trying to explain. i've opened up FNVEdit and clicked on my file as so, then when i press ok, it starts loading and comes up with this. so when i press ok again it shows me this, and as my file isn't up on the left i can't change anything about it. hope the pictures help show you the problems i'm having. davidlallen
Sorry, I do not know enough about fnvedit to understand this particular problem. Can anybody else help? If nobody answers, you may try linking to this thread in the fnvedit endorsement thread, or sending a PM to the author elminsterau. If you find a solution please update here. Quetzlsacatanango
Make sure falloutnv.esm is ticked in your load order, and it is loaded above your plugin.
