ploogle
I'm sure you're all familiar with the "shock" (lighting) projectile effect. I was wondering if anyone knows how to create a new spell effect of this sort. For example, firing a lazer beam in a straight line using a texture similar to this: http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m276/ploogle/lazer.png I know that the Midas' Magic mod was able to pull this off to an extent, but I can't seem to figure it out. Thank you all in advance! I'm trying to get back into mod-making so I'll be able to jump right into Skyrim modding when the time comes.
coreypikes
Searched TESNexus and found these: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10239 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11748 They replace the shock effect. However, if you use one of these (like Kals Blue Bolt), recolored it, you could create a new spell effect that resembles a laser beam. Just an idea though. ploogle
I wonder if instead of reskinning the "shock" effect, if I would be better off creating a custom particle system. Could I declare a single particle, then force the rotation of that to emulate a beam? If not, I can always mess around with the particles until I have an effect that *resembles* a lazer beam, without a custom texture.
