siviz4
Hi, I've played the Long War mod some time back (like a year ago, on a different computer) and felt I had to revisit the mod after XCOM 2 was announced. As such, I've installed it (without issue) - but the mod does not want to run. The launcher, where you choose between EU and EW, works fine, but if I chose EW nothing happens. The launcher just shuts down and then... nothing. No error message or anything of the sort. If I pick EU the game starts normally, but obviously without the LW mod. I've tried reinstalling both the mod and the game, to no avail. Help?
dubiousintent
Taking a guess that you pointed the LW installer too deep into the XCOM path. You only need to point it to the "XCOM-Enemy-Unknown" folder and NOT to the EW "/XEW" folder. (It looks for the latter itself.) Take a look at the install log (located in the same folder where you have the LW Installer) to see if you have any errors. Otherwise, we need more details such as: * Which "patch level", for which platform (Windows, Linux, Mac)?* What mods have you installed and any "in game" options such as "Training Roulette"?* Which version of which mods (meaning: is the mod intended for EU or EW; they are not interchangable and may be patch level dependent)? Not all mods are compatible with LW, and some have already been incorporated.* Have you tested EU/EW (twice) to the main menu prior to installing any mods (as per the "Basic Guide" wiki article)?* Have you disabled the "phone home" feature ("Basic Guide" wiki article)?* Are you running with Steam in "off-line" mode ("Basic Guide" wiki article)?* Have you disabled "Hash checks" ("Basic Guide" wiki article)?* Have you "Enabled INI loading" ("Basic Guide" wiki article)? The instructions on most download pages assume you have already performed the above. And they are never a substitute for reading the included documentation, such as "ReadMe" files.* Have you installed "TexMod"? If so, you need to uninstall it, install all other mods first, and then install TexMod last (because it requires renaming the game executable and messes up other mod installations). -Dubious- Edited June 25, 2015 by dubiousintent
