Darastus
Hey, when I try to install some mods with daupdater.exe, I can't use the updater, even when I restart my pc and without adding a mod it wont run. any ideas whats wrong?
Thandal
Welcome Darastus; Sorry you're having trouble with some mods. What mods are they? DAUpdater (and DAMM and DAM, the other "mod managers for DA)) can only handle a few, specially packaged types. Many (most?) DA mods are NOT those types. A little more information might let someone help you better.
Darastus
weapon mods, the type where you have to drag the file on the updater to make it work, like you said i'm new to this whole thing
Thandal
weapon mods, the type where you have to drag the file on the updater to make it work, like you said i'm new to this whole thingI meant "What are the names of the mods?" so if there are any specific issues associated with any of them, we'll be able to tell you. But perhaps the problem is that you're using them in a BRAND-NEW game. Ever since game patch 1.03, certain mods that add items directly to your inventory will not work correctly unless you: 1. Disable/uninstall the mods before starting a new game.2. Create your new PC.3. Start the campaign.4. Play until you can make your first Save. (MAKE the Save!)5. Exit the game.6. Reenable/reinstall the mods.7. Restart your game.8. Load the save you made in step 4. The mod items should now appear in your inventory. Edited February 6, 2011 by Thandal

Thandal
Welcome, majorchaoz! Until you have a specific problem, (which you should not anyway) we can't really say what might-or-might-not help. Good luck with your re-install.
Sync182
majorchaoz: Personally, I'd use DAOModManager to install all mods (whether overrides or dazips). I've never had an install go wrong yet using this program.
