What to do to download Enhanced Character Edit mod

Recommended Posts

I'm new to Nexus and modding in general. I want to know what to do to properly install ECE.

I am unsure if what I did was correct, but I manually installed ECE from Nexus and put it in the Data folder for Skyrim. I couldn't find ECE in the data files when I opened Skyrim, but I found other mods I downloaded from the Steam workshop.

I also think I saw that ECE might need other things to be installed. On the Nexus page for ECE, it states this:

"* Required custom skeleton which is included in this mod. Please select the option in installer.
** Required BBP meshes and skeleton.
*** Required TBBP meshes and skeleton."

I do not understand what those mean and I do not know how to find them.

It also mentioned something about YgNord and something about it being independent or whatever and that I needed to manually do something (I am clueless). Is this important?

I just want beautiful characters. Thanks.

1. Download Mod Organizer and install program

2. Search "XP32 skeleton" and install using Mod Organizer

3. Download ECE and install using Mod Organizer

You also need SKSE

Yes because it's BBP and TBBP compatible which means it will support physics modifications (bouncing breasts) and enlargement to glutes and breasts.

Ok, so when you download ECE you will find that it has a "fomod" which means the zip package in NMM should open a series of questions for what you want to do. If you install ECE without seeing a fomod you won't see it in your game because the zip looks like this:

Don't be confused by the graphic I am showing you, it's being opened with Mod Organizer, a different tool than Nexus Mod Manager.

What you should be seeing is this:

If you are NOT seeing this screen then you are not installing it properly.

Depending on the choices you made you will have a number of esps or esm:

CharacterMakingExtender.esp

EnhancedCharacterEdit.esp

RaceCompatibility.esm

If none of these data files are loaded in your mod order then you have done something wrong.

If they are in your mod order then you simply need to do this inside the game:

1. Hit tilde (~)

2. Type "showracemenu"

All of the useful info is also on the mod's webpage:

Installation

Common tasks:

Install SKSE. http://skse.silverlock.org/

Don’t forget to install the scripts of “Data folder” of SKSE !

Install with NMM:

Download from "Download with manager" button on nexus.

Press the "Activates the selected Mod" button.

Select if you need options.

Overwrite the existing files if you are asked, say "Yes to all".

Install with Wrye Bash:

Run Wrye Bash.

Select the mod in the Installers tab of Wrye Bash and then drag and drop EnchancedChacterEdit.7z.

Choose copy or move, when you are asked.

Right-clicked and then select the Wizard.

Select options if you need.

Check the "Apply these selections" and "Install this package" and then press the finish at the end.

Manual Install:

Extract the downloaded archive to a temporary location.

Then move it to the Skyrim "Data" folder.

The folder would be located at: <Steam install folder>steamapps-->common-->skyrim-->Data

Activate the EnhancedCharacterEdit.esp and CharacterMakingExtender.esp in your mod launcher by checking its box.

Please select option if you need.
