Problems with custom nifskope headgear being invisible

Alright so I'm working on making a custom made nifskoped headgear but for some reason the cowboy hat I put in doesn't show up on the character in the GECK/game. However it properly shows it in nifskope and when I go to select the mesh file in the GECK. Here are some pictures to show you what I'm talking about.

I've tried this with multiple different cowboy hats as well but the result is the same with them all. I think it has something to do with how in nifskope the cowboy hats aren't at the place the head would be but rather at the bottom and having a NiStringHeadData node. Which I've also tried putting that in the NiNode for the headgear but it didn't do anything. So if someone has even an idea on how to fix this please post it I would be extremely grateful for it!
