Guest Messenjah Posted February 7, 2011 Share Posted February 7, 2011 Hey, sorry for the lack of explanation. Basically, this is a burlesque style strip-club. Kind-of a crossover between the two. As far as custom content, this project is based on the concept of quality rather than quantity. It was originally designed for Fallout 3 and was originally called Boomtown. Since then, it has been relocated to New Vegas to make things a bit easier and a bit more lore friendly. Basically, I am no longer building an entire town, just a simple night club so I can focus on the little things. Basically, the goal is to create a nice little hang-out that the player will want to return to time and time again. I always liked the atmosphere that the nightclubs in Mass Effect 1 and 2 had and was very disappointed with Gommorah. I was really expecting something of higher quality. The focus is to make it as professionally done as possible. I also created the project so that I could create something different, lively, and atmospheric that was smaller and didn't involve the complexities of creating an entire town so that I can focus more on the details. I don't have a written-in-stone storyline just yet but some ideas of what I want to do. I'm planning on professional sounding voice overs "thus why I am building a sound booth out of one of my walk-in closets in my apartment and I recently purchased a USB studio quality condenser microphone. Don't expect anything too expansive as far as lots of new locations but more of something that has one single location that is interesting and atmospheric. I'm also going to see if I can add a stage show for the main stage and possibly a player suite. Some other things I will be working on is a kiosk that the player can use to buy contracts or "hits". Basically, one of the story elements is that some clients will pay the owner to put up contracts or hits for bounty hunters to purchase off from a kiosk. That way, modders can easily add quests to the kiosk that don't require any voice acting or dialogue work if they don't have the ability to do so. Also, I would like to add some repeatable quests as a way for the player to make some easy caps. Another thing I'm looking into are some drinking mini-games and possibly the ability for the player to work as a dancer, provided that the player is female. :) Just some possible ideas that may or may not make it in the final build. I'll try to write more on it tomorrow. Unfortunately, tonight, I am out of time. Have to go to bed so I can take a networking test tomorrow. mjskull Posted February 7, 2011 Share Posted February 7, 2011 Messenjah hit me up if you need someone to do some bits and bobs here and there, ive got my own mod but with everyone doing interior projects i think im gonna have to to stop at doing just the airport for now so may have some free time coming up to do some bits on this if, especially if you still need help with the lighting and whatnot. I already have a few other clothing items I've created for this mod. @AllanOcelot: I agree, however, I do need to plan for certain things such as dialogue. Some things will be add-ons and others may or may not. For instance, the stage show, I need to plan for as it will involve lighting effects that will tie in with the lighting scripts for the stages and may also need to tie to the speaker activators, which poses a bit of a problem if I try to do this as an add-on later. The drinking games and the actual content of the kiosk, however can certainly wait for later, and I intend to do just that.. ;) @mjskull: Sounds great! I could really use some help with scripts! If you want, go ahead and make the revisions you talked to me about and we may want to discuss how to set them up with a quest for the midnight show so that the script doesn't run during that period of time. In other words, we have it set up to play during a certain time of night right now but we may want to revise it so that it will stop or play based on the status of a quest instead so that we can have a quest that runs the light scripts, the speaker activators, and the stage lights and tells the npc's what to do all in one swipe so that it works together correctly. :) But we at least need a working script to test for now. ;) I'll try and get it working this weekend if possible as I have Saturday off and my wife will be working all day/night so I can focus in on it and get some testing on the scripts done. As for other problems I'm looking into, I need some royaltee free music for this mod and I need a song for the stage show that has a very burlesque-style feel if anyone wants to do some digging around. I prefer very burlesque style with mostly a jazzy or swing or even blues feel. Something you would expect to hear at a burlesque show if possible. I also need to find out why I cant seem to get MP3's to work over a custom radio station that I have made. I can select default songs but my custom MP3's will not work for some odd reason. I'm wondering if it is a format issue? Anyway, give me heads up if anyone has some nice ideas or if anyone wishes to help contribute in any way to the project to help us move this project along a bit faster. They look, and might I say before my girlfriend clouts me - sexy. ;-) I shall definatly get this mod just for the effort you have put in ( codeword for sexy outfits ) ;-) As for suggestions or ideas? (mostly importing/exporting and tuning in nifskope) As for music. Im not sure.
