Need some advice on builds

Replaying new vegas now that I helped the NCR beat Legion. Thinking this time i will help Yes Man. I got two different builds in mind (still playing on very hard mind you). The first build i have had the urge for a while now ever since i saw the cowboy perk....yep good old cowboy gunslinger.

 

THE COWBOY (Mojave Style)

Straight up rough and tough cowboy...gonna be sniping with La Longue Carabine and Trail Carbine (+ scope)...for much heavy duty stuff well ranger sequoia should do the trick or Anti Material Rifle (since i will have 100 in guns)

 

The second build i have in mind is an energy weapon user.
