Override folder..

Hello all,

If I make sub-folders in the override folder (for example "My Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/packages/core/override/mod1", "My Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/packages/core/override/mod2" etc..) , and place each mod in a different folder, will they still work?

and if the mod is for the character creation, the chargenmorphcfg.xml file must be on the main override folder or can it also be in a sub-folder? and if it can be in a sub-folder too, is it possible to have more than one mod for the character creation (which means multiple chargenmorphcfg.xml files)?

thanks.

Yes. In fact, I place all of those kinds of mods in their own folder, (with a name that tells me what it does. )

You can use MANY facemorph mods at the same time (I think I have 6-or-so runnng at the moment.) And yes, it does need to be in the "\override" folder. But no, the game will only read a single chargenmorphcfg.xml file. You need to merge all of the once associtated wiht the mods into one. That's exactly what TerraEx's great utility does: "CharGenMorph Compiler".

Also note that the chargen compiler CAN search within subfolders. So if a mod install does put the chargenmorph file inside another folder, the compiler will still find it.

Another note about subfolders in the override folder. The game can't read past 3 subdirectories. So for instance if your override folder structure is like this-

override/mod folder/subfolder 1/subfolder2/subfolder3/subfolder4

the contents of subfolder4 will not be detected.

Hope that this helps :)
