Courier07
I was wondering if anyone could add in DU rounds to vendors such as the Gun Runners and Knight Torres. Having DU rounds in the game would make sense since everything is stuck in the 1950s and everyone relied on nuclear power, so it wouldn't be strange to say that the US decided to make ammunition out of their depleted uranium. DU rounds are basically Tracer rounds you know that right? And sense all rounds shot in the game are visible, they are all Travers... And Traces are made of Depleted Uranium... With that being said, you could just mess with the states of ammo in G.E.C.K and then rename the ammo DU (insert bullet type here) Round(s). webster63
nope tracers are made with phosforus (spelled wrong lol) coating or something and as it burns it glows (as seen on History channel weapons of WW2) DU rounds are just contaminated metal from spent radioactive fuel rods and nothing more IMO they could have it and a recipe using radiated stuff could be used to make it so i see it fitting into the lore very nicely but .... it kills the user too think about it, its giving off radiation and to use in the game IMO you need a plausible way to explain how they were able to seal off the radiation safely enough to carry it around with you otherwise just holding onto it you continue to get radiation sickness so unless your always in a radiation suit which isnt likely then it would do mare harm to you then however many people you find to use it on before it kills you. if you could figure a way to explain or pretend it could be made safe to carry then it would be great and could give radiation damage to enemies on top of any other DT it has Edited February 9, 2011 by webster63
bben46
The reason for depleted uranium bullets is they are more dense than lead (heavier) and harder than steel, meaning they do not deform on impact like lead or copper bullets and weigh considerably more - so they make great armor piercing rounds. Not so great for unarmored targets as they pass right through with no knock down power. The depleted uranium also can ignite flammable targets and often catches fire after penetrating an armored target. Mostly used in 25mm or 30mm anti armor weapons and as tank penetrators on larger rounds.
