There is no w2ent for the steel sword. Otherwise, it would be a piece of cake.

So what I tried was replacing other files with the same extensions as those I found (w2mesh and xbm), and didn't work.

Seems like the .w2ent is the compiled version of the 4 files I found which is then recognised and read by the game.

Thing is, I've got no idea how to create it.

I know. That's exactly what I said before: it'll be a taunting fact if I can't find the model in the end.

The w2ent is the key and it's nowhere, and I mean nowhere in the whole content folder.

Been trying a lot of things with no success. Even tried stupid things like editing an existing w2ent file with Notepad++. (yeah, laugh away)

Btw, you seem to have the same level of interest with me in getting this sword. Have you tried anything?

Update: Found this thread from 2014: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/51614-Invisible-steel-sword-ingame

This guy managed to solve his invisible sword problem (which is the closest I've been in replacing a model), but didn't share how for some reason. Argh, frustrating.

still no luck then...

ive been looking all over the net, but i have not found anything that could really help. Everyone who seems to have the same problem kinda sorts it out on their own

Also, among the people who viewed this topic, seems like nobody shares our interest in this matter.

I guess we just have to wait out the development of RedKit 2.

It really is such a pity that CDPR didn't make that steel sword available, leaving us who like it wandering in the dark trying to get it on our own while it could've been so easy for them to implement the sword in the first place.
