AngEviL Posted February 8, 2011 Share Posted February 8, 2011 I've spend 50 hours in the last week editing weapons, armors and game settings to balance oblivion to my liking, and I am trying to change these 2 settings too. The spell area range cost scale is unbalanced in my opinion as the cost doubles for a doubling in the range and this is unpractical because you won't hit 100% more monsters, but more like 50% more monsters. I am looking to make it a non-linear scale, like "fMagicCostScale", so the cost raises 50% for every 100% increase in area effect (10ft cost -> 100 magicka; 20ft cost -> 150 magicka; 40ft cost -> 225 magicka). Then I find that the block cast speed is ripe for abuse, so i would like to remove that variable, and make block casting the same speed as regular casting. I know that if you want to change the regular cast animation speed you would have to change every animation of every character in the game, as that is hardcoded, but i think for the block cast speed there must be a variable multiplier.
