renegadespoon
i downloaded a mod called outfitsrecolourmaster whilst making my own world space and its saved that as the master file for my world space. i've experienced some problems and so moved the mod to a different folder to try and fix them. I've been trying to flip my world space file from an esp to an esm to try and fix some bugs, but FNVEdit is coming up with the following error messages: [00:05] Background Loader: [Ckthulu2.esp] Adding master "FalloutNV.esm"[00:05] Background Loader: [Ckthulu2.esp] Adding master "OutfitsReColorNVMaster.esm"[00:05] Background Loader: [OutfitsReColorNVMaster.esm] Loading file[00:05] Background Loader: Fatal: <EOSError: System Error. Code: 2.The system cannot find the file specified> The FalloutNV.esm opens in the box on the left, but my world space file doesn't. i need to change the master file for my world space from the outfitsrecolour to the FalloutNV master file, but even when the outfitsrecolourmaster was installed, it still wasn't opening and was coming up with a different message: Background loader: Fatal: <exception form ID [00160C43] in file FalloutNV.esm referes to master file FalloutNV.esm which has not been assigned a global load order> i need to change it but i can't do it using FNVEdit because it keeps coming up with messages that stop me from doing anything, is there some way i can change the master file without using FNVEdit? luthienanarion
Create a blank OutfitsReColorNVMaster and put it in your load order just to get FNVEdit to load your mod, then you can use it to change the master file in the header. You can do this with the GECK by saving a plugin without loading anything and editing the header in FNVEdit to make it a master file. Edit: Did you somehow make FalloutNV.esm a master to itself? renegadespoon
i'm pretty sure i've not done anything to the FalloutNV master file, not perposefully anyway. how do you turn files into master files? i tried but i think i did it wrong because it didn't work. i changed the flag to ESM but it still said .esp and wouldn't work. davidlallen
The file extension isn't related to the master bit. What you have now is a file which is named "esp" but acts as a "esm". I find that I get myself confused by this so whenever I flip the master bit in an esp, I use File Explorer to rename the file to esm. It seems that you have now succeeded in using fnvedit to flip the bit. In the other thread you started, you were having trouble with NPC's not following navmeshes. When you now say "it wouldn't work" can you be a little more specific?
renegadespoon
i managed to open and flip the outfitsrecolor in FNVEdit, but the files i need to open to flip them won't open still. i've tried everything people have suggested and nothing seems to work because FNVEdit just won't open either FalloutNVMaster or my world space file, it keeps coming up with the errors i mentioned so i can't flip anything to have a look at it. i've tried opening the FalloutNV master on its own and it wont open, i've tried opening my file on its own and with FalloutNV master and nothing seems to work. i'm at such a loss for what to do. davidlallen
I'm sorry, I cannot think of anything to help. My load order is simple and I have never had trouble opening fnvedit on my mods. I know many other people have used it successfully. Can you get back to a spot where you don't have any local mods installed, then install the one you need, and then copy your own? Maybe there is some other thing affecting your setup which I cannot see.
rickerhk
From the error you are getting when trying to load Ckthulu2.esp into fnvedit, you need both FalloutNV.esm and OutfitsReColorNVMaster.esm in the same directory as Ckthulu2.espOnce you get it loaded, you go to the header of Ckthulu2.esp and remove OutfitsReColorNVMaster.esm as a master. If you no longer have OutfitsReColorNVMaster.esm available, do what luthienanarion suggested: Open the Geck and save an empty esp file called OutfitsReColorNVMaster.esp. Rename it to OutfitsReColorNVMaster.esm. You don't even have to flip the bit on it. Then open Ckthulu2.esp with FNVEdit and remove the master from it's header. RoyBatterian
This mod was made with TESSnip, throw it in the garbage bin. It will corrupt your saves.
