Vehicles

I would love to add some drive able vehicles but I have no experience in modding the game and would love too see the ncr with things like Jeeps and trucks also if say the boomers could fly the multiple planes around the base and the legions had mutated horses instead of pack brahamin. I was hoping to make classic fallout weapons compatible with the game such as the 50'' calibre M2 attachable to the vehicles. The brotherhood could have a airbase underground with vertibirds and with the wasteland spawns mod (I think) which puts factions at war near borderlines would be much more interesting because when its ncr against say fiends the fiends are demolished within seconds where as if they were in vehicles it would be fair game. i know this is quite a lot to make but I feel that it could probably make mod of the month with ease.

Vehicles would be great but they wouldn't fit the game world very well. The map of New Vegas is actually very small and if you could get around quickly it would make this even more apparent. Not to mention there are invisible walls all over the damn place which would get in the way (though there is a mod to remove them).

 

I would love to see them in game but it would be better suited to a different map/different story line/mod.

driveable cars would be great. I would like to have a nice "new" Corvega :). Well the world is a little small for driving around in a car, but so i wouldn't need to carry all the stuff with me. For F3 there was a FOSE based driveable motorcycle. I think it is possible to create a mod but it won't be easy. Maybe you look at the driveable motorcycle for F3 to get an idea.

well, like the above, there is the bus mod, but the is also a promising corvega mod in the making. The idea is that it can fast travel to every, or nearly every place in the wasteland w/ it, however it will not be out for a while. Ive thought about how vehicles would work and really, i only think the main factions should have them, and or smaller factions w/ enough resources. In tactics there was a tank, among other things, and a highwayman in Fo2. I truly believe that the NCR should at least have a few working military trucks, because honestly, hauling stuff in brahmins wouldn't be the best thing to do, since i think they could get a few working considering how they have railways and whatnot.

 

But, as for vehicles to the player, i think they should be available, just one, because the player is always some sort of ultra special person.

 

Finally wrapping up this post, there is a half done hoverchair mod already out there, and the mkII verson actually looks similar to a singular hovercar, ive been thinking, what if you, i know this is much more difficult than said, but, what if you "reskinned" it to look just like a corvega/pickup truck? Make it wider and have the person sit correctly. Im rambling, well, those are my thoughs

Vehicles are a bit of an odd subject in the Fallout World. They seem to just ignore them altogether. They don't even bother removing the broken down vehicles or bothering to clean anything up. You would think House would have salvaged a car somewhere down the line or that the Kings would have moved the broken cars out of Freeside, but they all just seem to be fine walking among the filth...

i do agree about the fact that cars/vehicles dont really fit the gameworld of Fallout... it'd fit the theme and would not conflict with lore or immersion or sth

i mean who doesnt know "Madmax" or "Waterworld"? and boy did they have cars and stuff... but the gameworld is just too small to really enjoy a ride in ur car...

well maybe if the vehicles were not that ludacrisly fast but'd rather go only quite low speed... then again where's the point in having a vehicle if u r as fast walking...

i should try out that hoverboard mod (just for the fun of it^^)
